HOW TO(S):Installing the pluginPre-requisites Always remember to check your plugin settings and update thesaved settings when you upgrade or downgrade versions The change from version v1.5.14 to v1.6.0 and up is verbose.There are issues where customer’s hosting site is still pointing tothe older version even though their WordPress site has the latestversion installed. Please check with your developer to set this upcorrectly. Make sure to click on the enable checkbox in the settings page toenable the plugin correctly. You must have an API key to use this plugin. You can create anAPI key in you NMI merchant account. The tokenization key is optional. It allows integration with collectJSwhich introduces better look and feel to your checkout experience. An authorize only transaction type is specific for credit cards. If youselect an authorize only transaction type, your payment type cannotbe eChecks only. If you decide to use credit cards / eChecks aspayment type. When your customer pays with eCheck, thetransaction will be submitted as a sale (thus, authorized andcaptured).1

Install and Activate using WordPress add new page On your WordPress website, click on the Add New button on the leftnavigation panel to go to the add new plugin page. Search for ‘nmi’ in the search bar. The plugin and more will be displayed in the results grid. Click on the ‘Install Now’ button2

Click on the ‘Activate’ button when displayed. You will be redirected to the setup screen.3

Install and upload from our website Go to our BizZTools webpage. Select the NMI Gateway forWooCommerce plugin. You will be directed to the WordPress page. Click on the ‘Download’ button. The most recent and stable version willbe downloaded in a zip file to your default download folder (sometimes, itwill be stored in the last folder you selected as a download folder). Go to your WordPress website. Navigate to the Add New plugin page. Click on the ‘Upload Plugin’ button. Select the zip file you downloaded using the Choose file button. Click the Install Now button. The page will reload with information about the install process. Click on the Activate button to activate the plugin. You will be redirected to the set-up screen.4

Upgrading or downgrading the plugin Go to the WordPress page. On the right panel of the page, below the plugin details section. Click onthe ‘Advanced View’ link. The page will reload. Scroll to the bottom of the page. In the Advanced Options section. Click on the dropdown and select theversion you would like to install.5

Click the download button. Go back to your WordPress website. Install the plugin manually. Follow the steps in Reinstall Plugin (manually by uploading zip) section forguidance.6

Create CollectJS tokenization key Log in to your NMI merchant account page Navigate to Settings Security Keys Scroll to the bottom of the page Click on the blue button titled ‘Add a New Public Key’ (popup willbe displayed) Enter the key name (required) Select which username to assign the key to Select ‘tokenization’ as the key permission. Tokenization is used with Collect.js Checkout is used with Collect Checkout (this feature is not yetavailable for this plugin)7

A token should be created. Copy the key and paste it into the collectJS input box on your gatewaysettings page Click the ‘Save Settings’ button. Done.8

Reinstall Plugin (manually through WordPress Add New GUI) Navigate to the installed plugin page on your dashboard. On the plugin section with title “NMI Gateway for WooCommercePremium”, click on ‘Deactivate’ link. Choose any option in the popup menuor simply click the ‘Skip & Deactivate’ button. Click on ‘Delete’ link. This will not delete your current settings. WordPresssoft deletes plugins because users have a habit of switching betweenplugins. The plugin settings will be erased, only if the user deletes hisWooCommerce plugin and data.9

Click the ‘Add New’ button at the top of the screen. Next to the Pluginstitle. Use the search bar to find the plugin. Type ‘nmi gateway’ and wait for theresponses. Click the ‘Install Now’ button. Click the ‘Activate’ button. All set. You have installed and activated the plugin latest version.10

Reinstall Plugin (manually by uploading zip) There are two ways to download the plugin folder manually. You candownload by navigating from the installed plugin page or going toWordPress and downloading from WordPress directly.Download by Navigating from Installed Plugins Page Navigate to the installed plugin page on your dashboard. Go to the plugin section with title “NMI Gateway for WooCommercePremium”, there will be a highlight text with red background informing youabout a new version. Click on the inline link ‘new version’. If no highlighted text with red background is displayed, click on the‘view details’ link below the description of the plugin.11

A popup screen will be displayed. On the right side of the popup screen,click on the ‘Plugin Homepage’ link. You will be redirected to the WordPress page. Here, click on theDownload Now button and the zip file will be downloaded to your localcomputer.Download Directly from WordPress Go to the link, https://wordpress.org/plugins/woo-nmi-three-step/, click on‘Download Now’ button. The plugin zip file will be downloaded to yourdefault or most recent downloads folder.Once the plugin zip file has been downloaded. Go to your Installed plugins page on your website. Click on the ‘Add New’ button at the top of the screen next to the Plugintitle. You can go directly to this page by clicking on the ‘Add New’ tab onthe left navigation bar. You will be redirected to the Add New plugin page. Click on the ‘Upload Plugin’ button at the top of the screen.12

It should display an inline box. This would allow you to choose a file andselect the zip file. Click the ‘choose a file’ button. Select the plugin zip file you downloadedfrom the WordPress site. Click on the ‘Install Now’ button. You will be redirected to a different page where a rundown of the processwill be displayed. Click on the Replace current with ‘uploaded’ button.13

The page will be reloaded with responses showing whether the install issuccessful or not. All done. Remember to always update gateway settings after anupdate. It will help reduce faults in the plugin (this is necessary ifplugin plan has been changed from free to premium)14

Only Authorize Transaction and Capture Payment LaterAs a merchant, you can capture auth only transactions in the order edit/detailscreen. If transaction has been captured in your NMI account, it will be displayedas processed on your order edit page. Once the order has been placed, go to the order that needs to becaptured. On the right navigation bar on the screen. Under the ‘Order actions’section. Click on ‘Choose an action’ dropdown. Select Capture Charge from the dropdown list. Click on Update button orthe button ‘ ’ next to the dropdown.15

The page will reload with new notes added to the order. The notes will bedetailed with information on the authorization process whether success orfailure.16

Setup Subscriptions To set up subscriptions correctly, WooCommerce subscriptions requiresWP Cron extension to be added on your WordPress site. WooCommerce subscriptions is bought from WooCommerce directly.Here’s a web link to buy and download WooCommerce subscriptions Install the plugin and set up the subscriptions following WooCommercestore manager guide Set up subscriptions based on your needs.17

Update Subscription Payment Method (By Admin) Navigate to the specific subscription edit page click on the pencil edit icon, next to the billing address.18

The payment method information will be listed under the billing address. You can change the customer vault id and billing id on this screen. Theseidentifiers are gotten from your NMI gateway account. Update your changes. Verification and validation processes will be done inthe background.19

If successful, all done. Otherwise, check that the information you enteredmatches the information in your NMI gateways account.20
