For more information, please click here.WTO Upgrades Forecast for 2017 as Trade Rebounds StronglyWTO (World Trade Organization) economists have issued a strong upward revision to their forecastfor 2017 trade expansion following a sharp acceleration in global trade growth in the first half of theyear. The new estimate for world trade growth in 2017 is at the high end of the range of estimatesprovided in WTO economists' most recent trade forecast of 12 April 2017 (1.8% - 3.6%). Growth of3.6% would represent a substantial improvement on the lacklustre 1.3% increase in 2016. The rangeof estimates for world trade growth has been adjusted to 3.2% - 3.9%.Stronger growth particularly in China and the United States boosted demand for imports, whichspurred intra-Asia-trade as demand was transmitted through regional supply chains. Chinesedemand in the first half of 2017 was driven by solid growth in industry (6.4%) and services (7.7%).Director-General of WTO Roberto Azevêdo said “The improved outlook for trade is welcome news,but substantial risks that threaten the world economy remain in place and could easily undermineany trade recovery.”For the full article please click here.Exports Increased by 8.9 percent in SeptemberAccording to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) figures, exports in September was 11 billion 337million dollars with an increase of 8.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.Last 12 months' exports also increased by 9 percent to 153 billion 24 million dollars. As a young sub-sector of the large Turkish clothing industry,the babies’ and children’s clothing industry started to developin the nineties and now has a dominant role in the world. In theyear 2015 the total exports of the babies’ clothing sectorincreased by 4,67% with an export value of USD 231,12 million.Due to high quality and organic cotton production in Turkey,high technology use in production and increase in the numberof qualified personnel, Turkish clothing sector have a goodreputation in world markets.
