Performance SummaryThe National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) is an Australian Government initiative, working in partnershipwith the states and territories, to stimulate the supply of new affordable rental homes. Successful NRAS applicantsare eligible to receive a National Rental Incentive, drawing together Commonwealth and state or territorycontributions for each approved home where they are rented to eligible low and moderate income households at arate that is at least 20 per cent below the prevailing market rates.Report Definitions:In this report:Incentives Allocated means homes tenanted or available for rent.Incentives Reserved means incentives not yet delivered.Total Incentives means the total number of Incentives Allocated, Reserved.Type means the type of NRAS home. Size means the number of bedrooms in the NRAS home.NRAS Year means the period 1 May to 30 April each year.Key Allocation Data: All data in this report is current at 30 June 2014.Number of Incentives Allocated: 21,911Number of Incentives Reserved: 16,252Total Incentives: 38,163Compared to June 2013 quarter, there has been a 50.3% increase in Incentives Allocated.Number of Approved Participants: 144There are 14 Approved Participants who have incentives in multiple jurisdictions.Number of Approved Participants by Profit/Not for Profit Status: 56/88Of the Not for Profits, 83 are endorsed charities.Data is subject to daily variation because dwelling details will change as property developments progress.Note: 65 incentives offered as part of the Shovel Ready round have not yet been processed in thedepartmental system and therefore are not included in this report.1.
