SRC Groups UpdateStudent Representative Council – A new move forms a new grooveIn 2013 Pinnaroo Primary School adopted a new approach to a student representative council, a mechanism to engage student participation and foster leadership to create discussion of student views and ideas allowing for a rangeof SRC initiatives.Whilst the more traditional student elections still take place, in addition to this we now allocate a cross section of students of all ages to each of the four new responsibility areas where they remain for a semester. An executive SRCmember and a class teacher are in each group. The groups are as follows, School Grounds, School Pride, SchoolCommunity and School Activities.2014 Office HoldersPresident: Blake VirgoSecretary: Jade BennierVice President: Thomas WurfelTreasurer: Emmerson ThielSRC groups meet in weeks 3, 6 and 9 for an hour after lunch. This and many otherareas around the school are due for rejuvenation, with many more plantingsto come.Following the success of recycling efforts for the 2013 Snow Trip, we will continue to collect and sort donations of cans and bottles.
