LOGISTICS PLANS OFFICER:This position is located at the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team (CBCT) Headquarters inBoise, Idaho with units in Idaho, Oregon, Montana, and Nevada. Candidate will be assigned asthe Logistic Plans Officer in the Brigade Headquarters Operations Section (S3).Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists the Brigade S3 and Plans (S5) with the development, implementation, and evaluationof future brigade activities to include: overseas deployment training, warfighter/command postexercises and response cells, community relations events, new equipment training and unitstatus reporting/quarterly training briefs. Conducts liaison and interface with training-aligneddivision headquarters, State-level training and facility managers, and subordinate staffelements to ensure a shared understanding between all stakeholders during preparation forkey training events. Coordinates and ensures completion of pre-deployment trainingrequirements, country clearance requests and requisite specialty training associated withupcoming activities and exercises. Tracks and ensures the implementation of new policystatements, regulations, directives, Tasking Orders (TO) and Letters of Instruction (LOI)provided by State, National Guard Bureau (NGB) and the Department of the Army (DA).Tracks all current and future FORSCOM requirements for National Guard units deploying tooverseas locations. Provides guidance and assistance to ensure command-directed programshave been implemented and evaluates their effectiveness in subordinate elements.Directly contributes to the concept development and Operations Orders (OPORD) productionfor the 116th CBCT’s annual training events to include: Maneuver gunnery and Combined ArmsLive Fire Exercises (CALFEX) in support of objectives established in the Sustainable ReadinessModel (SRM), future eXportable Combat Training Center (XCTC) and Combat Training Center(CTC) rotations, and brigade and battalion Warfighter Exercises/Command Post Exercises(WFX/CPX). Conducts liaison with key enablers for CTC rotations, especially units in thesustainment and protection Warfighting Functions (WfF). Processes and resolves Requests forInformation (RFI) from subordinate units to ensure a shared understanding of the BrigadeCommander’s intent. Lead planner for implementation and sustainment of Combat ServiceSupport (CSS) and convoy security gunnery objectives. Provides coordination support for theBrigade Operations and Sustainment cells. Assists with integrating the Logistics Officer’s (S4)concept of sustainment into the S3/S5’s concept of operations.Serve as the primary 116th CBCT Point of Contact (POC) for subordinate units on daily mattersconcerning deployment readiness. Conveys and enforces requirements established by theBrigade S4 for equipment and supplies, by the Brigade Personnel Officer (S1) for personneladministrative readiness, and by the S3 for required individual and collective training. Trackscompletion of required suspenses as identified in brigade OPORDs. Assists the S3 in validatingthat the planned training events by subordinate units meets the 116th CBCT’s CommandTraining Guidance (CTG) and the requirements established by the State and strategic planners.Assists subordinate units in reconciling their personnel, training and equipment documentationbefore submission to the Brigade Sustainment cell.-- Possess a strong working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), anddisplays excellent written and presentation skills.4

-- Demonstrate strong decision-making ability and attention to detail; ability to lead as well asperform as a member of a team; must be highly reliable and capable of meeting suspenses in afast-paced office environment with changing priorities.-- Working knowledge of Digital Training Management System (DTMS), Defense Travel System(DTS) and Aircraft and Personnel Automated Clearance System (APACS) are preferred.--Demonstrate superior understanding of the 116th CBCT task organization and subordinateunit composition and capabilities, to include the capabilities and shortfalls of organicsustainment assets.-- Assists as needed with projects or initiatives in support of the IDARNG Strategic Plan, toinclude leadership development, recruiting & retention support and employer relations activities.5
