AIRPORTS IN INDIAMissionzIn the past decade, Indian airports have witnessed fast paced growth in traffic. Traffic has almost grown three times the GDP. Theburgeoning numbers have opened up a vista of opportunities in the sector.zHowever, the Covid-19 pandemic has severely impacted the sector. The complete suspension of travel adversely impacted therevenue streams of airports. While the Airports Authority of India (AAI) deferred the payment schedules, private operators soughtrelief in the form of moratoriums on debt obligations and waivers on the payable revenue share.zThe AAI reported a reduction in revenue from about Rs 29 billion during April-June 2019 to Rs 2.3 billion during April-June 2020.Overall, traffic volumes declined by about 75 per cent from about 1.27 million during April-September 2019 to 0.3 million duringApril-September 2020. With the resumption of flights in a calibrated manner, some signs of recovery are visible. Passenger traffichas increased from about 95,000 in May 2020 to 240,000 in September 2020.zAirport privatisation is one area that continued to gain steam even amidst the disruption caused by the pandemic. The first round ofprivatisation of Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Mangaluru airports has been completed. Under thegovernment’s stimulus package, six airports have been identified for the second-round bidding for operations and maintenance ona PPP basis. An additional investment by private players in 12 airports in the first and second rounds is expected to bring in aroundRs 130 billion. Another six airports will be put out for the third round of bidding.zWhile the existing airports are currently operating far below their capacity, the government is going ahead with its plan tooperationalise 100 additional airports by 2023-24. The report of the Taskforce on National Infrastructure Pipeline FY 2020-2025 hasidentified airport projects worth Rs 1.43 trillion, highlighting plenty of investment opportunities.zThe Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) continues to play a major role in adding new airports and routes to the aviation landscape. As of October 2020, 50 unserved and underserved airports with 285 routes have been added under UDAN.zIn addition, greenfield airport projects at Navi Mumbai, Jewar, Mopa, Purandar, Bhogapuram and Dholera have made significantheadway despite disruptions on account of Covid-19. Besides, new capacity has been created with the commissioning of the Kannur,Durgapur, Shirdi, Pakyong and Kalaburagi airports.zMeanwhile, capacity utilisation is being improved through automation and deployment of new technology-enabled solutions atairports. Digital processing of passengers at airports called "Digi Yatra" and upgraded versions of the AirSewa 2.0 web portal andmobile app are some of the noteworthy initiatives in this area.zThe Covid-19 outbreak has also brought the concept of physical distancing to the forefront. For most airports, technology solutionssand innovative equipment have come to the rescue. Contactless plane boarding procedures are already being followed. This hashighlighted the urgent need to deploy automated video surveillance systems and crowd management solutions.zThe mission of this conference is to highlight the recent trends and developments, analyse the impact of Covid-119 on projects, investments and operations, identify the upcoming and new opportunities, and deliberate upon the potential solutions and futurestrategies for the revival of the sector. The conference will also showcase the most noteworthy projects and promising technologiesin the current times.Target AudienceThe conference is targeted at:- Existing airport operators- Developers and contractors- Renewable energy companies- Safety, security and surveillance companies- Airport service providers- Financial institutions- New/Potential airport operators- Lighting companies- Engineering and construction firms- Communication solution providers- Management consultants and market analysts- Equipment manufacturers- Policymakers and regulators- Airlines- Legal firms- Architecture and design consultants- Cargo and MRO service providers- Construction material manufacturers- Aviation fuel sellers- IT solution providers and technology providers(cement, steel, etc.)

FEBRUARY 23-224, 2021What differentiates our conferences?zThe agenda is developed by our researchers, who track the sector round the year. It is thus relevant and topical. It is not driven by a particular organisation and does not have a particular slant.zThe speakers are professionals and experts involved in the sector, not a mix of ambassadors, ministers, celebrities and business owners.zThe conferences do not just comprise panels and speeches; they provide a good mix of expert presentations andcase histories, and of course panel discussions.zWe have representation from across the country, as is the case at our physical conferences too.zEach stakeholder group – policymakers, developers, financiers, consultants and relevant NGOs – is representedat our conferences.zThe moderators merely ask the questions. The stars are the speakers themselves.zThe sessions begin and end on time.zThere is adequate time for a Q&A session with each speaker. These are not “hit and run” speeches.zThe delegates are professionals who are vested in the sector, and are not just assembled through social media.zA recap of the conference is also made available to reinforce the key takeaways.Delegate benefits (Virtual Conference)zzzzzzzDirect interaction with senior speakers (Q&A facility)Easy connectivity to geographically dispersed delegates (click of a mouse)Cost effective (lower ticket price as compared to a physical conference)Offers flexibility and convenienceAccess to conference recordingRecap of conference sessionsContributes to sustainability and lower carbon footprintBenefits of sponsorship (Virtual Conference)zzzzzzzE-Meet influencers and decision-makers/Reach out to and engage with new or active prospectsGenerate high quality sales leadsIncrease brand recognitionTarget a captive and engaged audienceDrive website traffic through social media promotionsPosition your company as the thought-leader in your industry
