RF/Microwave sPush-on Connectors were originally introduced to themarket to facilitate dense packaging within RF/Microwavesystems. Since then, they have become the interconnectsystem of choice for design in military, space andcommercial applications. The push-on interconnect systemrelies on a floating female-to-female adapter—commonlyreferred to as a “bullet”—to enable stacking of boardsequipped with male PCB connectors.»» SATCOM»» Wireless Test»» Radars and Antennas»» Semiconductor Test»» Electronic Warfare»» Military Aerospace and UAV»» Missile Defense»» Available in board-mount,field-replaceable, bullets, hermetic and cableconnector configurations»» C4ISR»» High Reliability»» General Purpose TestWMP ConnectorsThe WMP series is the smallest push-on product family andis designed to satisfy the demand for increased packagedensity and reduced weight in microwave systems, whileoperating at frequencies up to 100 GHz.TMPFrequency (GHz)SMPSSMPWMP234065100SSMP ConnectorsThe SSMP interconnect interface is approximately 30% smaller than the standard SMP interface, and offers the flexibilityof a blind-mate push-on connector system while maintaining a high standard for electrical performance up to 65 GHz.6

The SMP push-on connector family, originally designed by CarlisleIT, is the ideal solution for board-to-board and cable-toboard connections within RF/Microwave systems operating up to 40 GHz.RF/MicrowaveConnectorsSMP ConnectorsSMP AssemblySpring-Loaded SMP BulletsPCB Board Mount2-Port SMP Connector Block (Hermetic P757-2(.555) MINBOARD SPACING(.560) MINBOARD SPACINGP922-2CCR.P.(.070)(PCB)(.543) MINBOARD (.091)(.040)(.150)(PCB)(PCB)SMP Board-to-Board Connections using Standard and Spring-loaded bullets7

RF/Microwave ConnectorsRF/MicrowaveConnectorsSMP-L Secure-Lok ConnectorsThe SMP-L series is the latest addition to our push-on connector family. The SMP-L connector adds a patent pendinglocking mechanism to the standard SMP interface, referred to as Secure-Lok . This makes the connectors ideal for ruggedmilitary and commercial applications up to 40 GHz, where susceptibility to vibration and other environmental factors havehistorically limited designers to use threaded connectors.TMP Connectors – High Power Push-OnThe TMP connectors are comparable in size to an SMA connector and are designed to provide a convenient blindmateable solution specifically for high power applications. They are ideal for design in radar, missile and satellite systems,as well as commercial applications.8

The XMP high power interconnect series is designed to provide a convenient blind-mateable solution for ultra high powerindustrial applications, such as high powered lasers. The XMP series is durable in construction and can tolerate radial andaxial misalignment for multiple engagement/disengagement cycles without degradation in electrical performance.RF/MicrowaveConnectorsXMP Ultra High Power ConnectorsHigh Density Block ConnectorsWe also offer a variety of multi-position block connectors based on the standard interfaces – SMP, SSMP , TMP andWMP . These are typically designed with 2, 4, 6 or 8 connectors integrated into a single block. Custom integrated designsare available upon request.9

RF/Microwave ConnectorsRF/MicrowaveConnectorsHigh Performance ThreadedCarlisleIT has over 30 years of experience in the designand manufacture of high performance RF/Microwaveconnectors. Our threaded coaxial connectors are widelydesigned into military, defense, space and commercialsystems. They form the essential building blocks inmany phased array radars, missiles, satellites and testinstruments.Applications»» SATCOM»» High Reliability»» Radars and Antennas»» General Purpose Test»» Electronic Warfare»» Wireless Test»» Missile Defense»» Semiconductor Test»» C4ISR»» Military Aerospace and UAVSMA ConnectorsThe SMA series is our most extensive product line and includes a complete list of board mount, field replaceable, cableconnector and adapter configurations. They are an ideal solution for microwave modules and systems up to 18 GHz.EPSMA Connectors2.92mm (K*) ConnectorsThe EPSMA (Enhanced Performance) series of connectorsmaintain the same physical dimensions of an SMAconnector while extending the performance to 26.5GHz. They are tuned to provide ultra-low VSWR overthe frequency range, and are ideal for design into poweramplifiers for mil/defense and commercial systems.2.92mm (K) Connectors are precision microwaveconnectors with an air interface which provide mode freeperformance up to 40 GHz.*K Connector is a trademark of Anritsu Company10

TNC ConnectorsThe Type N series is used heavily in microwave systems, where higher power handling capability is needed. Theseries includes cable connectors and adapters and areavailable in both 12 GHz and 18 GHz designs.TNC series is used in microwave systems up to 11 GHz.Our TNC connectors are ideal for space applications andare also available in High Reliability (Hi Rel) designs.SSMA ConnectorsBNC ConnectorsThe SSMA Connector is essentially a smaller version ofthe SMA connector. It was mainly designed for boardto-board connections and is commonly used with .085semi-rigid cables. The SSMA connector provides modefree performance to 36 GHz, and is also available as boardmounts, field replaceables and other configurations. The BNC Connector continues to be the predominantchoice in low frequency RF and aerospace applications. We carry a variety of BNC cable connectors that providesuperior performance up to 4 GHz.RF/MicrowaveConnectorsType N Connectors11

RF/Microwave ConnectorsRF/MicrowaveConnectorsTest AdaptersCarlisleIT has perfected our continuous transmission lineright-angled design to produce optimally matched lowloss adapters. All of our adapters are 100% tested to ensure optimum performance over their respectivefrequency range. In order to facilitate adapting from one connector configuration to another, we also offer between-seriesadapters for different connection types. In this case, the frequency range is limited by the connector with the lowerfrequency of operation.Precision Swept Right Angle AdaptersIn-Series Adapters12Between-Series Adapters

RF/Microwave ConnectorsRF/MicrowaveConnectorsSwept Right AnglesCarlisleIT introduced the Swept Right Angle adapters tomarket to improve upon the performance of a standardright angle adapter. Since then, the design has also beenemployed to other configurations such as panel mounts, field replaceables and cable connectors to fit the desiredapplication needs. These are also available in almost all ofthe RF/Microwave connector families we offer.Applications»» SATCOM»» High Reliability»» Radars and Antennas»» General Purpose Test»» Electronic Warfare»» Wireless Test»» Missile Defense»» Semiconductor Test»» C4ISR»» Military Aerospace and UAVLow VSWR Swept Right Angle ConnectorsThe swept right angle connector utilizes a one piece center contact that is curved within a radius tube housing. Theproprietary manufacturing process ensures a true coax geometry from end to end. The radius design configuration allowsfor a better performance at higher operating frequencies in a tighter package and greatly reduces shock or vibrationfailures. We offer many different interfaces with the swept profile, including: SMAs, SMKs (2.92mm), TNCs along with avariety of in-series and between-series adapters and custom configurations to fit your application needs.14
