The Bible Challenge2022A One Year Journeythrough the New TestamentA Lifelong Foundationin the New Testamentonly 27 books ahead!

Dr. Joshua BeckleySenior Pastor, Ecclesia Christian FellowshipPraise God for you accepting the 2022Bible Challenge! This Bible reading plan will guide you through reading andstudying the New Testament for the entire year.In my reading through the Bible each year for the past 20 years,I have found it most edifying and encouraging. It has enhancedmy Bible knowledge and understanding. I know it will do thesame for you as you embrace this challenge. For the Bible says:Sanctify them in the truth; Thy word is truth. John 17:17Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path! Psalm 119:105But his delight is in the law of the LORD,and in His law doth he meditate day and night! Psalm 1:2Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk,so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 1 Peter 2:2All Scripture is God-breathed and is usefulfor teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,so that the servant of God may bethoroughly equipped for every good TIONS TO PRINT AS A BOOKLET IN ACROBAT IF ABLE “Save As” a PDF - select Print - select your printer Pages to Print: All Page Sizing & Handling: Select Booklet, Both sides, 1 to 3, Left Orientation: Portrait PRINT

Dr. Robert W. Strong,Minister, Ecclesia Christian FellowshipWelcome to the 2022Bible Challenge.I have endeavored to read through the entire Bible every year sinceabout 1997. I simply desired to better know God and His Word. While pursuing my doctorate, Dr. Gary McIntosh encouraged andassigned each member of our cohort to begin a new “ministry”that would regularly benefit people outside of our normal ministryresponsibilities. In 2010, I began sending a daily text messageannouncing the Bible reading for the day, including a brief highlightfrom that reading. This was the birth of TODAY’S READ, daily textsto coincide with the daily Read thru the Bible in One Year readings!2021 yielded the highest level of participation ever. Over 100people followed The Bible Challenge. Julie Ferebee suggested ameeting as an avenue to discuss the readings. This gave birth tothe monthly Bible Challenge Review. A game was used to review thereading, followed by Q&A for the books read that month. PastorWillie Hicks challenged me to use Ecclesia’s Tuesday night 7:14devotional as a time to overview each book of the Bible. Done!Towards year end, the voice of Julie Ferebee (the prophetess ofdirection for The Bible Challenge) stated that the reading schedulewas very fast and did not allow much time to process and absorbthe reading. Therefore, The Bible Challenge 2022 will take a newroute 66. Instead of reading the entire Bible, we will take a:One Year Foundational Journey through the New Testament! We will read each book of the New Testament (3-5 chapters perday). Then, the reading schedule will call for one chapter per dayfor that New Testament book. Each chapter reading will includedevotional assignments and journaling. This journey will provide aFoundation in the New Testament that will LAST a LIFETIME!

BIBLE READING SUGGESTIONS Pick & Stick - Pick a single translation to use for this year’sBible reading plan. Using multiple translations will causeyou to miss out on nuances, associations, and otherbenefits that will enhance your understanding. Read Printed Bible - preferred to using an electronic Bible. Listen to Audio Bible - Listening to an audio version ofyour preferred translation and following along in yourprinted Bible will help you keep a steady pace, enhanceretention, minimize distractions, avoid rabbit trails, andhelp pronounce unfamiliar words. When you run acrossunfamiliar words, do not skip over them. Take a momentlearn to say them correctly. Mark up your Bible - Underline, circle, highlight, jot notesand write definitions in margins. Your markups this year willhelp your retention and really enhance your current readingand future understanding!Over the years, using colored pens/pencils and severalcolored highlighters has helped to quickly identify themessage and movement of a passage.(Refer to How To Study Your Bible by Kay Arthur for a goodexplanation of a highlighting system.) Check the Box - Check the box each day for each chapterread. This visual will motivate you to continue. Remember - This is READING and will include light STUDY/JOURNAL exercises during the one chapter a day sections.GOAL: Book readings for big picture. Chapters for understanding. Make a List - While reading, make a list of passages, themes and key words you would like to study “later.” Daily Reading - Prayerfully approach each daily readingas a Date (consecrated time spent with God). Your desiresare to know God better and to receive new understanding.Avoid letting familiarity with a passage hinder your growth.
