IntroductionGet StartedXerox Mobile Print Portal gives you thefreedom to print when you are on the go-away from your desktop and usual printers.Use any mobile device (e.g., smartphone,tablet) to quickly and easily print to supported printers.Xerox Mobile Print Portal runs on the following devices:lliPhone /iPod Touch iOS Version 7.0 orhigheriPad iOS Version 7.0 or higherNote: The first time you login there is a briefgetting started tutorial that you may follow.After the initial login, if you would still likehelp, the user guide is available from Settings Support Information.

DownloadYou may install Xerox Mobile Print Portalfrom the app store for your device.Once the install is complete, look forthe Xerox Mobile Print Portal icon in yourmenu of apps.LoginYou only need to log in the first time youaccess the application or when you return tothe application after signing out.When you use the application for the firsttime, you will be prompted to set your pushnotification preference. Choose Yes if youwant to receive pop-up messages from theserver. You may change this option underSettings User.Note: To log out, Sign Out swipe open themenu and tap the Logout icon.

All users start by accepting the terms of useand entering an email address. After youenter your email, you will be prompted toenter your credentials in one of three waysdepending on your system setup. Not surewhat to enter? Check with your administrator.Option 1: Confirmation Number1. Enter your email. Select Next.2. You may be asked to enter a companycode. This helps identify you. Your company should supply this information beforeyou log in.3. You will be prompted for a confirmationnumber. If this is your first time using theapplication, you may not know your confirmation number. It will be emailed to you.Select the retrieve confirmation numberoption to retrieve your confirmation numberfrom the server in your email.

4. Enter the number you received via emailand touch Done.Option 2: Corporate Login1. Enter your email. Select Next.2. You may be asked to enter a companycode. This helps identify you. Your company should supply this information beforeyou log in.3. Enter your User Name and Password. Thisis determined by your company. It may bethe same credentials you use to log oneach day. If you are unsure, check withyour system administrator.Option 3: Password1. Enter your email. Select Next. A temporarypassword is sent to you.2. You may be asked to enter a companycode. This helps identify you. Your com-

pany should supply this information beforeyou log in.3. Enter the temporary password.4. Supply a new password and confirm it.Touch Done.Note: Passwords should be at least eightcharacters long and contain at least oneupper alpha character and one numeric character.OverviewUse your mobile device to print from email,the web, an image library, and other applications to a network of workplace and publicprinters.Note: Public printing availability depends onyour deployment. See your administrator formore information.Go straight to the Print topic to get help printing.

WelcomeThis view lets you quickly access the mostpopular features in Print Portal. From herejust tap the icon you want to:lprint from various sourceslselect printerslview status of pending jobs, andlgo to the Documents list.For more extensive options, swipe open thenavigation menu on the left. This can beaccessed throughout the application.SettingsThe Settings view allows you to check yournetwork information, unlock printers, andfind support information.

If you want to receive pop-up messagesfrom the server, under Notifications togglethe Enabled field to "On."Unlock PrinterNote: The availability of this featuredepends on your deployment.1. Swipe open the menu and tap Settings.2. Tap Unlock Printer.3. Enter the unlock code from the printer display.4. Tap Unlock.5. The Unlocking Printer view instructs you toeither tap Next on the printer to continue ortap Cancel in Print Portal to keep theprinter locked.Print PreferencesFollow the steps below to configure yourprint preference for stapling, color, and plex.

1. Swipe open the menu and tap Print Preferences.2. In the Preferences view set the color, stapling, plex (1-sided or 2-sided), and mediasize options that you prefer.Once you configure these settings they willbe remembered across devices. The settings apply to all document and release workflows. You can override these settings for aspecific print job in the Print Job view.Configure EmailIf you want to access your email accountfrom within Print Portal, you can add anemail account. Please note that your emailis not stored in Print Portal.1. Swipe open the menu and tap ConfigureEmail.2. In the Add Email Account view you mustenter your user name and password.

3. Optionally, you may expand and enter additional settings. For example, you may wantto set how often to sync your email Inboxwith Print Portal.

Manage DocumentsIn the Documents list you can perform theactions below for documents that you haveuploaded and are ready to print.Print1.2.3.4.Touch the document and Print Job opens.Set a Printer.Choose your print options.Touch Print.Note: Go to Print for more information.Preview1. Tap the Info icon. In the Details viewtap View.2. If applicable, choose an application to viewin (e.g., Gallery or Quickoffice). The preview opens.

Print HistoryYou can view the print history from Detailsfor a specific document or go to Job Statusto view your history for the last seven days.To view public print submissions, go to thePublic view.1. Tap the Info icon. The Details screenshows the file's print history.Delete1. Swipe left to delete a document.2. Tap Delete to confirm.PrintXerox Mobile Print Portal makes it simplefor you to print on the go. Print to anyenabled device at your workplace or to otherauthorized print locations. (This may include

Xerox Mobile Print Cloud guest devices orpublic hotspots.)There are a variety of file types you canprint. (See the FAQ for a full list.) You canprint:lwebpageslimages captured with your cameralfiles and images stored on your devicelemails and their attachmentslcontent from your clipboardAll you need to do is choose a file, chooseyour settings, and print.Can I Upload Now and Print Later?Note: The amount of time your document isavailable to print is designated by your company's system administrator.

1. Open the file in Print Portal.2. On the Print screen touch the Upload icon.This saves your file in the Documentsqueue until you send it to a specific printerlater or release it at the printer.Can I Reprint a File?1. Go to the Documents view.2. Select the file you want to reprint from theDocument list. You can reprint an item thathas been uploaded.3. Open the Details view and tap Print.FilesFollow the steps below to print from the filelibrary you select on your device.Note: The Files print option is not availablefor iOS 7 devices.1. Either swipe open the menu or go to theWelcome view and tap File.

2. Select a file from the library.3. In the Print Job view, if necessary, select aprinter, set print preferences, and tap Print.EmailOnce you have associated an email accountwith your Print Portal account, you can printemail messages from that email account.There are two email workflows dependingon your configuration.1. Manual Email: From your email you send amessage to the Print Portal server or directly to a printer.2. Integrated Email: Your IMAP/POP emailaccount is accessible from within PrintPortal.Manual Email1. To print an email message, forward it to thegeneral email address to upload the file forlater release. (See the FAQ, if you do not

know the email address.)Note: Some deployments also allow you toemail the printer directly using a device-specific email address. The job is sent to theprinter immediately and you will not be ableto set print options.2. Open Print Portal.3. Touch the message you want to print. ThePrint Job screen opens. In the Print Jobview, if necessary, select a printer, setprint preferences, and tap Print.Note: To print an attachment, follow thesteps for Other Applications.Integrated EmailEmails may be printed from within PrintPortal using the IMAP or POP protocol. Bydefault, this feature is disabled in the PrintPortal and must be enabled by an administrator.

Please note that your email is not stored inPrint Portal.1. Either swipe open the menu or go to theWelcome view and tap Email.nThe first time you use this feature youwill need to log in to your account.Enter the User Name and Password forthe email account. Tap Save.nThe settings may already set by youradministrator. To change them, swipeopen the menu and tap ConfigureEmail. For example, you many chooseanother email address or change howmany days of your email sync withPrint Portal.2. Open the message and tap Print. If thereare attachments in the email choose whatto print; otherwise, go to the next step.nAllnEmail Only

Attachment: Labeled with attachmentname3. In the Print Job view, if necessary, select aprinter, set print preferences, and tap Print.nNote: If you do not wish to print the emailnow, tap Hold.Note: If you are sending multiple files fromemail to print, and they require different printoptions (color, staple, pages) the best practice is to submit the files individually so thatyou can customize the print job.Other Applications1. Choose a mobile application (e.g., Dropbox). Select the file you want to print.2. Select print and use the Open in PrintPortal option.WebpageWebpages are printed by converting thepage to a PDF document for upload. Print

Portal supports printing multiple webpagesand sizes the pages for printing.Note: This print option only applies to iOS 7.1. Either swipe open the menu or go to theWelcome view and tap Webpage.2. In the browser, enter the URL for thewebpage you wish to print.3. Once the page opens, select Print4. In the Print Job view, if necessary, select aprinter, set print preferences, and tap Print.Create And Manage BookmarksDo you frequently visit and print from thesame webpages?You can create bookmarks for these pagesin Print Portal to make your printing more efficient.

To create a bookmark:1.2.3.4.In the welcome screen select Webpage.In the More menu, tap Add Bookmark.Enter a title for you bookmark and tap Add.Enter the URL for the webpage you wish tobookmark and tap the web icon.5. Once the page opens, tap Print.6. In the Print Job view, if necessary, select aprinter, set print preferences, and tap Print.To edit or delete a bookmark:1. In the Webpage view, open the menu andtap Show Bookmarks.2. In the bookmark list, touch and hold thebookmark you wish to edit or delete.3. To edit, enter the revised title or URL andtap Save.4. To delete, tap the Delete button.

PhotosYou may print pictures stored on yourdevice.1. Either swipe open the menu or go to theWelcome view and tap Photos.2. Confirm that you want to print an existingimage stored on your device, or tap Capture Picture to open the camera to take anew picture.CameraFollow the steps below to take a picture withyour device and then immediately print it.1. Either swipe open the menu or go to theWelcome view and tap Camera.2. Take a picture and select Save.3. In the Print Job view, if necessary, select aprinter, set print preferences, and tap Print.

ClipboardFollow the steps below to print content thatyou have copied to your clipboard.Note: This print option only applies to iOS 7.1. Save content to your clipboard.Note: The content can be text and images.It may come from webpages as well as avariety of other sources.2. Either swipe open the menu or go to theWelcome view and tap Clipboard.3. Tap Print .4. In the Print Job view, if necessary, select aprinter, set print preferences, and tap Print.Note: The clipboard content is converted toa .PDF file in order to print.Note: If you do not wish to print the emailnow, tap Hold.

Printing to Public LocationsThe steps to print files to workplace and public printers are very similar.Print Portal users will see these public printers in the public workflow of the application,assuming they are authorized for publicprint. Users who release jobs to these printers will receive a release code (under ViewStatus) and will use the device's secureprint path to release the job.1. Follow the steps for the particular print type(i.e., camera, library, etc.)2. Choose a public print location.3. Tap Print.Note: Prior to submitting to some public locations, you may be required to acceptterms of use for that location.4. You are routed to the Public view while thefile is processed.5. Use your release code to release the printjob at the print location.

Note: For jobs sent to some public locations, you will receive an email confirmation with your release code when theprint job is ready to be released. Thisincludes public printers from the Xerox Mobile Print Cloud, which follow a secureprint path to release the print job. In thesecure print release process you select theJobs button on the printer panel. Then selectyour job, which has your email address associated with it. Enter your release code at theprompt.See Job Status for more information.Print Job SettingsAs part of the print workflow for all file types,you can change the settings in the Print Jobview. If applicable, you may also updateyour Accounting information here.The view varies slightly for public and workplace printers.

Current PrinterTouch to change printers. See Printers formore information.Printer OptionsYou may preset your print preferencesunder Settings. Otherwise, the availableprint options vary depending on theprinter you have set.CopiesTo set the number of copies, use the and - buttons.Page RangeIf enabled, use this section to choosewhich pages of your file will print. Thisoption is not available for public printers.This setting is visible for supported filetypes, which include:

lImageslMicrosoft OfficelllOpenOffice (excludes the .ODF filetype)PDFDocuWorks (only with the DocuWorksplug-in)You may use comma-separated valuesfor all the supported file types exceptExcel spreadsheets, which only acceptsingle pages or a hyphenated page range.Note: If the page range you select isinvalid for an OpenOffice spreadsheet(.ods) the valid pages will print. For otherformats the entire print job will fail.

Color, 2 Sided, StapleFor color, two-sided, and staplesoptions, slide the toggle.If enabled, you can specify on whichedge to flip two-sided print jobs. Longedge is the default behavior.Media SizeThis option allows you set the size ofyour print output based on what theprinter supports. Your document willscale to the size selected. The defaultoption is auto. If the media you chose isnot available in the printer, the job will beheld for resources.Secure PrintYou may set a passcode in order to releasedocuments on supported printer models.This adds an additional level of security toyour print job. To use secure print:

1. Open Secure Print.2. In the Secure P e QR codeand add the printer to your Favorites.It's the most accurate way to make sure yousend your print jobs to the right device.Scanning TipsIn the Add Printers tap the QR Code Scanner icon.Check conditions below if you are having difficulty scanning.1.2.3.4.Make sure you are close enough.Make sure there is enough light.Center the code in your viewer.Check your focus.FavoritesTo change your favorites, go to the PrinterDetails view:

Tap to remove a printer as a favorite orTap to add a printer as a favorite.Printer DetailsThe Printer Details displays the printer's capabilities and provides general and locationinformation. In the Printer Details view youmay set the favorite and default status aswell as add a printer to your device's contactlist.

FAQWhat file types are supported?The file types below are always supported.Microsoft Word documents (*.doc,*.docm, *.docx)Text and rich text files (*.rtf, *.tif, *.tiff,*.txt)Images (*.gif, *.jpeg, *.jpg)Adobe PDF (*.pdf)Microsoft PowerPoint presentations(*.ppt, *.pptm, *.pptx)Microsoft Excel spreadsheets ( *.xls,*.xlsm, *.xlsx)

How do I change Company Code?If you are logged into the app, you will needto log out to change your company code.1. Depending on your device, at the loginscreen open Menu or press the Settingsicon.2. Under Settings, check the Prompt for Company Code option.3. Continue with the log in process.4. When prompted to enter your companycode, enter your new company code. If it isdifferent from code you used at your lastlog in, a verification email is sent to youremail address.5. Get the verification code from the emailand enter it in the app. Continue with yournormal login process.Why is file preview slow?File size and network speed impact the preview load time. If you have a large file that is

taking a long time to preview, go directly toprint.What email address do I use to printemails?For Xerox Mobile Print Cloud deployments, send emails to print@printbyxerox.com and the file will upload forprinting later.For some deployments, you can find theprinter email address in the Printer Detailsview.Why can't I print?Unsupported File Types Or Print OptionsCheck the list of file types above. Yourdevice may not allow the file type.If the printer you selected is not configuredfor the paper size of your document, select adifferent printer and reprint.

Document Did Not PrintYou can view the print history from Detailsfor a specific document or go to Job Statusto view your history for the last seven days.To view public print submissions, go to thePublic view.1. Tap the Info icon. The Details screenshows the file's print history.Review the history to verify that the document was successfully sent to the printer.You can also check the printer; perhaps theprint submission was successful, but thedevice is out of paper, etc.Check that the accounting configuration forthe printer and for mobile print match. Ifthere is a disconnect, your file may not print.

I received a User Validation errorwhen I forwarded a file to Print Portal.Why can't I print?If you have multiple email accounts that youaggregate, and you want to forward filesfrom the aggregated email account to PrintPortal, it must be the email account that isassociated with your Print Portal profile. Tosuccessfully print, you could forward fromone email account to the one associatedwith Print Portal and send the file to printfrom there.On iOS, why isn't Print Portal a printoption when I want to print emails orphotos from the native applicationson my device?These are limitations imposed by the operating system. However, mail attachmentsmay be printed, and images taken in or

opened from within Print Portal may also beprinted with the app.
