JAPANESE NEW YEAR!Grade 3/4 celebrated‘Setsubun’ in class by makingOni masks and we threw beansfor good fortune.A REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS THAT THE WEEKLY NEW LOOK NEWSLETTERIS THE MAJOR FORM OF COMMUNICATIONBETWEEN SCHOOL AND HOME. WEADVERTISE UPCOMING EVENTS, KEEP YOU ABREAST OF WHAT HAS BEENHAPPENING AROUND THE SCHOOL AND EACH WEEK, SHOWCASE WHATHAS BEEN HAPPENING AROUND THE SCHOOL. PLEASE READ THE NEWSLETTER EACH FORTNIGHT AND TAKE NOTE OF SPECIAL DATES.The newsletter is published everyfortnight and will be sent to each family electronically via Flexibuzz. If you need aprinted copy of the newsletter, a small number of these are available at the school office (we do not give individual children a printed newsletter). If you need help todownload Flexibuzz (App store) please see your child’s teacher.

Tips to help your child settle in to the new year at school!Change can sometimes affect us all differently. Some students enjoy the challenge of a new year.Others take a little time to get used to the idea that what they have known for twelve months isno more and that they need to adjust to a new setting with a new group of peers and a newteacher. To stay tuned to how your child is feeling, ask them about their day.Maybe have a chat around the dinner table and ask the following questions:What was the best thing about today? What did you learn today? What are you looking forward to tomorrow?Maybe each family member could do this. This is a way to focus on the positives. If your child tells you something that makes you worried, try to keep the emotion out of yourresponse. Get them to focus on the positives and reassure them that everything will settle. Ofcourse if you feel your child needs extra support with this then see your child’s teacher andexplain what your concerns are.
