Purpose of the handoutThe Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is seeking public feedback on the belowdesign proposal for construction on WIS 54 in Brown County. The purpose of this outreach is toobtain your input on the identified needs and proposed improvements along WIS 54 betweenUniversity Way and WIS 57 in Brown County. There will be no in-person public meeting due tothe current health emergency. We appreciate your input and encourage you take a moment toreview the project information and provide comment.WIS 54 Location MapLegendProject RouteProject ImprovementsWisDOT is proposing to improve 4.40 miles of WIS 54. The project is a resurface-levelimprovement project. The purpose of this project is to address deteriorating pavement and otherroadways’ deficiencies along WIS 54 from University Way to the WIS 54/WIS 57 interchange. Resurfacing mainline WIS 54 (concrete repair and overlay and asphalt mill and overlay)Resurfacing ramps for University Avenue/Nicolet Drive and resurfacing mainlineUniversity Avenue/Nicolet Drive (concrete repair and overlay)Concrete repair on Bay Settlement Road rampsReplacing beam guardReplacing curb ramps at southwest quadrant of Bay Settlement Road and Leon BondDrive and intersection of eastbound off-ramp for Bay Settlement Road and BaySettlement RoadReplacing culvert endwallPavement markingsShoulder rumble stripsShoulder aggregate

Proposed traffic impactsDuring construction, the roadway will be reduced to single lane traffic on WIS 54. Motorists canexpect to encounter temporary lane and shoulder closures. The ramps for University Avenue /Nicolet Drive and Bay Settlement Road will be closed for 3 days or less duringresurfacing/repairing operations.
