In addition tocompletion of course work, theatre majors are required toparticipate in all major productions.B.A. candidates will complete the core theatre coursesand select an additional 18 elective theatre credits fromthe approved list of theatre courses. B.F.A. candidates willcomplete their core theatre courses plus a specialization ineither performance or design. In conjunction with specifiedcourses in the College of Education the Department offersall of the courses required for the student to be eligible forteacher certification in Theatre Education.The degree requirements represent a four yearprogram. Upper division transfers must have their lowerdivision preparation evaluated by the university and by theDepartmentandwillbeadvisedaccordingly.An audition or portfolio review and/or interview isrequired of all candidates wanting to enter the theatreprogram. Students admitted to the university are admitteddirectly to their chosen major. Students are expected tomake good progress based on critical indicators, such asGPA in specific courses or credits earned. In cases wherestudents are not making good progress, a change of majormay be required.
