new standard for movies about witchcraft wasestablished. This was in part due to the technical adviceof Pat Devin, an Elder and the first officer of theSouthern California local council of C.O.G. (Covenantof theGoddess) established in California in 1975, anincorporated, religious, non-profit organization.[ In 1996, there were approximately 250,000 Wiccans in the United States. ]While much of the technically correct information inthe movie was a fresh relief for many of us, Hollywoodalso had filled the movie with the normal amount ofspecial effects. You know, the kind that have nothingwhatsoever to do with “real magick.” In the past fewyears, large numbers of people after seeing “TheCraft” turned towards Wicca with the impression thatthe movie was a real reflection of what they could learn. This misconception was further in-forced by a numberof new Televison shows and more Hollywood movies.Never had a little bit of truth created so muchconfusion. Parker TorrenceWhat is Wicca?"Basically, Wicca is an evolving religionwhich originated from paganism, the oldestreligion in the world. It's an earthoriented religion which has aconsciousness towards ecology, notdomination of the earth. We are part ofeverything that is going on around us.Humans have a responsibility for theiractions and how they treat the earth, plants, animals, birds, fish and even rocks.” Pat DevinGrimoire of eclectic MagickIn 1996, “The Craft” was released in theaters and a

Greetings, and welcome to the “Grimoire ofEclectic Magick,” and yes this is a bookabout real magick! What is Magick, & why read this book?“Magick is the Science and Art of causing Changeto occur in conformity with Will.” Aleister CrowleyOr in more modern terminology:Magick is the methodology of attracting to one’sself, those events required for the achievement ofa goal. Read this book if you want to know thetruth about casting a circle, and crafting a spell.Read this book if you want to learn how to achieveyour goals. Read, and discover the Joy of Magick! What should you learn/know first? This is just my opinion, but I believe that thesingle most important thing you can learn inregards to magick, is the Wiccan Rede andthe Three Fold Law!Bide the Wiccan Rede you must,In perfect love, in perfect trust.Eight words the Wiccan Law Fulfill:“An it harm none, do as you will.”Lest in your own defense it be,Ever mind the Rule of Three.Follow this with mind and heart,Merry meet, and merry part .Grimoire of eclectic Magickthe Joy of Magick(

(The witches in the movie were not Wiccan, but there are many Wiccan elements inthe rituals that they use. I am notWiccan, but I draw from Wiccan sources for myrituals. You do not have to be Wiccan topractice magick, but you do need tounderstand that Wiccan or not, you are stillgoverned by the Three Fold Law of Return.“Whatever you send out comes back times three!”“As ye sow, so shall ye reap.”Call it what you like, use whatever words youwish, but understand all things move in a circleand you always get back what you put out. Itmight not be tomorrow, or next year, butsomewhere down the road it will come back toyou three fold. Both the good and the bad. Areyou ready? This too is the Joy of Magick!Grimoire of eclectic Magickthe Joy of Magick

In the movie The Craft, the schoolgirls portrayed are not Wiccan. Ifyou desire to become a Wiccan, contact a Gardnerian coven (orsome other Tradition). Apply for admission, learn and follow to theletter the beliefs and teachings of that Tradition. If you desire to becomea Ceremonial Magician, contact the OTO (or some other Order). Applyfor admission, learn and follow to the letter the teachings of that Order.“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” Ralph Waldo EmersonNow if you are seeking a path that is not at one of these two extremes, there is hope. Like the witches in the movie, you can learn and practicean eclectic form of magick. You can do this in a group, or you can dothis as a Solitaire.Wicca is a child of Paganism, and only one of its’ many flavors. There arestructured Traditions like Ásatrú or the many Druidic groups. Or there arejust as many eclectic groups, that draw from both wicca, and non-wiccansources. If you are very adventurous, you can create your own eclecticpath, before you do that, please read the rest of this book. An old adage“True magickisn’t black orwhite. Theonly evil, isin the heartof the user.”Grimoire of eclectic Magickpicking your path (

(states, “you should not break the rules, until afteryou first know how to use them correctly.” This iseven more true when it comes to the practice ofmagick!Hollywood, television and the hard-copyentertainment industry like to spew forth themisinformed concept that there are Good andEvil forms of magick. In my opinion that is on thesame level as saying every head of every country isa perfect person, and has never ever done (or eventhought) anything moral or ethically wrong. If thatwas true about politicians, then we would haveworld peace, no human rights violations, unemployment and crime would be at zero. The reality of magick is, it just exists. Like air orwater. It takes on the form and color of the personusing it. If your desire is to do harm, (society maycall it evil,) and if you employ magick to do it, wellremember the Three Fold Law! Most peoplepractice magick that is a reflection of theirpersonalities. If a person is self centered andself serving, magick will not change them.Personally I would not want them in anygroup I was working in.With the practice of magick, comesresponsibility for ones own actions (more onthis in the next section). Your firstresponsibility should be to find a path that issuited to your needs. Do you need thestructure and discipline of a Coven orOrder? Do you need to belong to somethingwith a history and a set of (never changing)traditions? Or do you need the freedom thatan eclectic solitaire path would provide?I am a simple Pagan and I walk an eclecticsolitaire path. I have, and do work withsmall groups from time to time, and I havehad some formal training. My reasons forthis path are simple, I spent twenty years ofmy life in the Navy at a time when therewere very few Pagans in the military. It fitmy needs.Grimoire of eclectic Magickpicking your path

“It is better to rush upon this blade thanenter this circle with fear in your heart”Everyone at one time of another has wanted totwitch their nose, or blink their eyes, and havetheir house and children clean, and find a newwardrobe hanging in their closet. Maybe if you havea maid, a nanny and someone to do yourshopping, and you’ve trained them to understandfacial tic commands. Then, and only then will youget the result that you seek. When it comes to thereality of magick, you’ll get those results, faster theold fashioned way.I have yet to meet anyone who can balance andspin a pencil with their mind, walk on water(without it being frozen first) or fly through the air(without the use of an aircraft). These arethe dreams of the young and the science ofthe Hollywood special effects artist. It is saidthat there are those in the far east who havemastered some of these feats. They’vespent their whole life in meditation toachieve this. So if you are ready to give up,fast food, cable television, the Internet, andindoor plumbing. Go book a flight to India, seek a guru, and we’ll see you in 80 years. If, on the other hand, you are not yet willingto give up your standard of living, thereality of magick is that it can not alter orGrimoire of eclectic Magickreality and responsibility

(break the physical laws of nature. In fact, magick isjust the employment of nature’s laws for theachievement of ones’ goals. These laws of magick are not the occult secrets thatsome would have you believe. Just go to anyreputable Human Growth Seminar and see howmany of these “occult secrets” are being openlyemployed by non-magick users. If you don’t havethe time, then pick up a copy of “Think and GrowRich” and you’ll find many of these secretteachings spelled out. Before you begin the practice of magick, youshould understand that, like life itself, there is acertain responsibility that you accept. You areresponsible for each and every action, thought anddeed. There is no devil, the music, and moviesdon’t have subliminal messages hidden in them, and regardless of how dysfunctional your childhoodwas, you, and only you are responsible for yourown actions! If you like being a victim, ifyou need an escape goat to go through lifewith, then the last thing you need to do islearn magick.Magick is about responsibility, and respect.Responsibility for yourself, and respect forall living creatures. It is one Pagan viewpoint that the Great Mother gave birth to allthings, meaning that we are all part of eachother, as well as every living creature androck. Do you respect yourself? Do yourespect the environment around you? If youdon’t respect yourself, how do you expect tobe responsible with the art of magick, andrespect its’ use.Never practice magick from the spaceof fear or anger. These emotions, both tend to sour the desired results. In group work, you are only as strong, asyour weakest link. That is why fear is thelast thing you need in any group or circle.Grimoire of eclectic Magickreality and responsibility

from Aspects of Occultism by Dion FortuneOver the years, I have read anumber of explanations asto why Pagans worshipmultiply deities. To be honest Ihave felt that most of these weremore the various author trying tojustify their personal beliefs. Withthat said, I will now attempt toanswer the question as to whyPagans worship multiply deities. To barrow from a popular movieseries, everything that exists haswithin it the FORCE. There isonly one FORCE, and it is withinall things! Now this idea isnothing new, and before StarWars it was more commonlyknown as the TAO.The TAO is a beautiful concept, but is has only one major flaw, ithas no face. Humans, being thecreatures that we are, like toGODS OF ANCIENT EGYPT“All Gods are one God,All Goddesses are one Goddess, and there is one SHATSETSHUSOBEKTAWERETTEFNUTTHOTHWADJETGrimoire of eclectic Magickarchetype gods and goddesses (

Let me also state thatPagans do not really worship these Godsand Goddesses. What we do is “Honorthe aspect of the divine that theyreflect.” By employing a name of a Godor Goddess our human psyche connectswith the Archetype symbol that theyrepresent for us. Common examples:Diana the Huntress for many brings tomind a maiden who is wild and free.Frigga the Mother is evoked often byboth Pagans and non-pagans with thewords “T.G.I.F.” As the “F” stands forFriday, and once upon a time that wasFrigga Tag, or Frigga Day. We all havestrong emotions about Friday. Hecatethe crone brings to mind for many, anancient woman sitting over a cauldron.Just to be fair to the male aspect of theCELTIC-GAULISH DEITIESDANAthe LordBASICCELTICthe A(Dagda,Sucellus)EMAINGOIVNIUGRANNUSGREEN MANHERNLUGH(Llew, TEUTATES(Tiw)Grimoire of eclectic Magickarchetype gods and goddesses

While the Holly King issymbolic of the joys of the winter season. “Deck thehalls with boughs of Holly, tra-la-la-la-la la-la la la.Tis the season to be jolly ” etc. etc. What deities you choose to honor, unless you arefollowing a Tradition, are very much a personalmatter. These pages have a number of Gods andGoddess listed. These are provided as reference foryour own research. (Greek and Roman deities havenot been listed.) In the later sections of this book, Iwill be employing the “Basic Celtic” deities forsimplicity and reference.Monon is the fictitious name used in The Craftfor the Spirit (the Force, or TAO). It is ofinterest to note that it sounds similar to“Mananan” the Celtic-Gaelic God of the Sea.Dark or Bright, most Pagan traditionsarrange the Gods and Goddesses intoa standard pattern. The first of these isthe Three Fold Goddess. Regardless if youcall the Lady Gaia, Frigga or Dana.Underlaying her power, are the threeaspects of Maiden, Mother & Crone, (Lunararchetypes). In some traditions these arethree distinctively different Goddesses. Inother traditions, they are the same Goddessat different stages of Her development. Thenthere are Goddesses like the Triple Morrigan- Macha, Nemain and Babd. Then we have the Two Fold God. The Lordis normally viewed as being symbolic of theSummer season, and the Winter season.Common names for these are The GreenMan and The Horned Man. The first of theseis strongly connected to the growingseason, while the latter is associated withthe harvest and the hunt. The archetypeshere go back to the days when all humanswere hunters and gathers.Grimoire of eclectic Magickarchetype gods and goddesses

All cultures have within their beliefsystems the concept of the fourcorners of the world. The idea ofguardians dwelling in Watch Towers, is notsomething from the far distant past. It is, morea creation of the medieval magician, coming tous from a time when the lords of the land dweltand ruled from their castles. Even moreperplexing, is that many Pagan and Wiccansystems name, and call upon the HebrewArchangels as the Watchers who dwell withinthese Towers at the edge of the world. The singer, song writer, Kate Bush, on heralbum The Red Shoes, has within the lyrics ofthe song Lily, incorporated the traditionalwords to summon the Archangels from theirWatch Towers “Gabriel before meRaphael behind meMichael on my rightUrial on my left side” Lily by Kate BushIn The Craft, part of the invocation of theSpirit Monon also calls upon the power ofthese guardians to aid in the ritual working. What these Watch Towers represent are thepower of the Elements Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.Grimoire of eclectic Magickelements and watch towers (
