ZirconiaCrownCementationMade Easy with3M RelyX U200Self-Adhesive Resin Cement

Preparerestoration.

Step 1Sandblast surfaces to becemented with 30 or 50micron aluminum oxideat a pressure of 2 Bar(30 psi) to create a mattesurface appearance.Step 2Clean with alcohol andair dry with oil-free air.!Tip:If sandblasting is done in laboratorybefore try-in, clean saliva contaminationwith NaOCl (ca. 5%) and rinse withwater. Do not use phosphoric acidfor cleaning.

Pretreattooth.

!Step 3Remove provisionalrestoration. Mechanicallyclean prepared tooth(e.g. with pumice paste).Tip:Make sure any residue (temporarycement, desensitizers, astringents,disinfectants, etc.) is completelyremoved. Do not use H2O2, EDTAor NaHCO3.Step 4Rinse and lightly dry.Leave tooth surfacemoist. Do not over drythe tooth. Over dryingcan lead to postoperative sensitivity.

Applycementand seat.

Step 5For Clicker Delivery:! Dispense a small amountof cement to ensure evendispensing Discard this material Apply two clicks ofthe cement pastes ontoa mixpad Hand mix with a spatulauntil a homogeneous mixis obtained Wipe the Clicker barrelsindependently to avoidcontamination of thematerial and prematuresetting Ensure that the cap isput firmly in place(clicking sound)Tip: For a crown, typically two clickswould be needed.

Step 5For Automix Delivery:Dispense a small amountof cement onto themixpad to ensure aperfect mix. Discardthis material.Step 6For Clicker Delivery:Use the mixing spatulato apply the cement intothe crown.For Automix Delivery:Dispense cementdirectly into the crown.Step 7Firmly seat the crownwith finger pressure.

Clean up.

Step 8Tack cure for1–2 secondsper surface.Step 9Remove excess cementwith a scaler whileholding the crownin place.!Tip:Do not exceed recommended tackcure time, otherwise clean up will bedifficult. For a controlled curing time,use 3M Elipar S10 LED Curing Lightor 3M Elipar DeepCure-S LED CuringLight tack curing function.

Final cure.

Step 4Apply 3M Single BondUniversal Adhesive tothe bonding surface andrub it in for 20 seconds.Step 5Air thin with oil-free airfor 5 seconds until thesolvent is evaporatedand no more ripplesare observed.!Tip:Cover-up prepared crown with anorange colored daylight screen until it isinserted (to avoid unintentional lightcuring taking place).

Pretreattooth.

Step 6:Remove provisionalrestoration. Mechanicallyclean prepared tooth(e.g. with pumice paste).Step 7 (Optional):(Selective) Etch withphosphoric etching gel,rinse with water andlightly air dry withoil-free air.!Tip:Make sure any residue (temporarycement, desensitizers, astringents,disinfectants, etc.) is completelyremoved. Do not use H2O2, EDTAor Na2CO3.

Step 8Apply 3M Single BondUniversal Adhesive tothe bonding surface andrub it in for 20 seconds.Step 9Air thin with oil-free airfor 5 seconds until thesolvent is evaporatedand no more ripples areobserved. Avoidpooling.Step 10 (Optional)Light cure Single BondUniversal Adhesive for10 seconds.

Step 11 Dispense a small amountof cement to ensure evendispensing Discard this material Apply two clicks of thecement pastes onto amixpad and hand mixwith a spatula until ahomogeneous mixis obtained. NOTE: twoto four clicks are neededfor a crown dependingon tooth size. Wipe the Clicker barrelsindependently to avoidcontamination of thematerial and prematuresetting Ensure that the capis put firmly in place(clicking sound)

Step 12Use the mixing spatulato apply the cement intothe crown.Step 13Firmly seat the crownwith finger pressure.

Clean up.

Step 14Tack cure for1–2 seconds per surfacefrom a distance.!Tip:Do not exceed recommended tack cure time,otherwise clean up will be difficult. For acontrolled curing time, use 3M Elipar S10 LEDCuring Light or 3M Elipar DeepCure-S LEDCuring Light tack curing function.Alternatively, remove excess in soft stage andapply glycerin gel before final cure to avoidoxygen inhibition layer.Step 15Remove excesscement with a scalerwhile holding thecrown in place.
