There arethree types of RTH procedures: Smart RTH, Low Battery RTH, and Failsafe RTH. This section describesthese three scenarios in detail.DescriptionGPSHome PointIf a strong GPS signal was acquired before takeoff, the Home Pointis the location from which the aircraft was launched. The aircraft will then automatically return to the last recorded Home Point. You may usethe remote controller’s control sticks to control the aircraft’s position to avoid a collision during the SmartRTH process. Press and hold the Smart RTH button once to start the process, and press the Smart RTHbutton again to terminate the procedure and regain full control of the aircraft.Low Battery RTHAircraftThe low battery level failsafe is triggered when the DJI Intelligent Flight Battery is depleted to a point thatmay affect the safe return of the aircraft. Users are advised to return home or land the aircraft immediatelywhen prompted. The DJI GO app will display a notice when a low battery warning is triggered. Theaircraft will automatically return to the Home Point if no action is taken after a ten-second countdown. Theuser can cancel the RTH procedure by pressing the RTH button on the remote controller. The thresholdsfor these warnings are automatically determined based on the aircraft’s current altitude and distance fromthe Home Point.The aircraft will land automatically if the current battery level can only support the aircraft long enoughto descend from its current altitude. Phantom 4 Pro/Pro User ManualObstacle Avoidance During RTHAircraft can now sense and actively attempt to avoid obstacle during FailSafe RTH, provided that thelight condition is ideal for the Obstacle Sensing System. The details on how the aircraft will behave duringobstacle avoid is listed below:1. Aircraft decelerates when an obstacle is sensed at 65 feet (20 meters) ahead.2. Aircraft stops and hover then start ascending vertically to avoid the obstacle. Eventually, the aircraft willstop climbing when it is at least 16 feet (5 meters) above the detected obstacle.
