PA Natural Heritage Program Species ListsPFBC, PGC & DCNREndangered, Threatened, Special Concern Species & Rare and Significant Ecological FeaturesList as of Jan 28, 2014This document provides lists of Threatened and Endangered species, Special Concern Species, and Rare and Significant Ecological features in Pennsylvania that are found in the PA Natural Diversity Inventory(PNDI) database and tool. The species and resources have been categorized according to the PA Department of Environmental Protection’s definitions in their PNDI Policy. Species and resources are listed byeach jurisdictional agency or commission. Each agency or commission provides recommendations for their species or resources to landowners, developers, and planners to conserve or enhance the speciesthrough the PNDI review process. For guidance on how PNDI recommendations are implemented when a DEP permit is required, please see the PA Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) PNDI et/Document-95198/021-0200-001.pdf).Also, please visit the PNHP website for more information on all species and ecological features surveyed and tracked by the PA Natural Heritage Program ons for each agency or commission Rank and Status can be found at the end of this document.PA Fish & Boat CommissionTotal Reptiles, Amphibians, Fish and Mussels in PAReptilesAmphibiansFish3736160(217)*includes species that visit PA, but not year round residentMusselsNon-mussel Aquatic InvertebratesTotal (excluding non-mussel aquatic invertebrates)65 10,000298 (355*)T&E speciesThreatenedEndangeredTOTAL144862(20% of all reptiles, amphibians, fish and mussels)Special Concern SpeciesCandidateOther SpeciesTOTAL104454(17% of all reptiles, amphibians, fish and mussels)Page 1 of 35

The World Heritage Convention and its Operational Guidelines consistently refer to World Heritage Sites as ‘Properties’ (i.e., the area of land inscribed on the World Heritage List is a “property”). The term World Heritage property is therefore used throughout this report in preference to the term World Heritage site.
