The T-BERD 5800 is branded as the MTS-5800 in Europe, and it is interchangeably referred to as the T-BERD 5800, MTS 5800, MTS-5800, MTS5800 and Media Test Set 5800 throughout supporting documentation. The following terms are used to represent instrument components throughout this manual:

3 VIAVI T-BERD/MTS-5800-100G 25G 40G 100G Ethernet (Continued) Modes Of Operation Terminate Monitor/Thru Comments: Monitoring on Rx while keeping Tx up via idles Logical Loopback Comments: Manual and Loop up/down; switching of addresses at Layer 2 and Layer 3 Timing Recove

The VIAVI Solutions T-BERD /MTS-2000 is a handheld multi-test platform that provides field technicians with a single handheld unit to install, turn-up and maintain

Ethernet RFC 2544 Layer 2 Traffic This document outlines how to configure and run an RFC 2544 Layer 2 Traffic Test for Metro Ethernet service activation. Equipment Requirements: T-BERD/MTS 5800 equipped with the following: o BERT software release V26.0 or greater o Test options: C510M

The T-BERD/MTS-5800 is a portable field test instrument capable of testing CPRI/OBSAI transport links. CPRI and OBSAI test options save hours of troubleshooting by enabling installation with BER testing and performing link delay measurements, thereby ensuring proper handoffs for time-sensitive and service-critical applications such as LTE.

T-BERD 5800-100G in accordance with Viavi’s Enhanced RFC 2544 test methodology. RFC-2544 is a recommended test suite for verifying key performance indicators (KPIs) including Throughput, Delay and Frame Loss. Viavi’s Enhanced RFC 2544 Test Suite also measures Jitter and Committed Burst Size (CBS)
