Sewing for MissionsSewing for Missions by Baptist women is anotnewconcept, however, when mission minded women fromdifferent churches and denominations get together tosew for missions the idea is unique. This past fall someWMU leaders from Truett Association churchesdecided to meet once a month and sew projectsthatwould be sold at a Christmas Bazaar which was held inDecember in the Fellowship Hall at Murphy FirstBaptist. All proceeds went to The Lottie Moon ForeignMission Offering. The monthly sewing days are heldone Wednesday per month at Ranger Baptist Churchin the Family Life Center. Ladies from several churchesparticipated and all are welcome. Ranger MethodistChurch even donated some fabric for the project. Theladies made casserole covers, sewing and desk cupcaddies, four season placemats andoasters.cSeveralother items such as crocheted and knitted scarves andcraft projects as well as home baked goods wereavailable at the Bazaar. Old Shooting Creek, MurphyFirst and Ranger Baptist raised 1,500 from the Bazaarfor Lottie Moon Missions.
