Thedoors will be locked and the climatecontrol system may come on.The engine will continue to run for10 minutes. Repeat the steps for a10-minute time extension. Remotestart can be extended only once.Canceling a Remote StartTo cancel a remote start:.Aim the RKE transmitter atthe vehicle and press andhold / until the parking lampsturn off.Turn on the hazard warningflashers.Turn the ignition on and thenback off.See Remote Vehicle Start onpage 2‑5.Door LocksThere are several ways to lock andunlock the vehicle.From outside, use the RemoteKeyless Entry (RKE) transmitter orthe key in the driver door.1-5LiftgatePress K twice on the RemoteKeyless Entry (RKE) transmitter oruse the power door lock switches tounlock the liftgate.From inside, use the power doorlocks or the manual door locks. Adjust the driver seat, includingthe seatback recliner andlumbar, both outside mirrors,power steering column, and thethrottle and brake pedals.See Power Mirrors onpage 2‑17, Steering WheelAdjustment on page 5‑2, andAdjustable Throttle and BrakePedal on page 9‑21 for moreinformation.Not all mirrors and adjustablethrottles and brake pedals willhave the ability to save andrecall their positions.2. Press and hold “1” untiltwo beeps sound.3. Repeat for a second driverposition using “2.”To recall, press and release “1”or “2.” The vehicle must be inP (Park). A single beep will sound.The seat, outside mirrors, steeringcolumn, and adjustable throttleand brake pedals will move to thepositions previously stored for theidentified driver.See Memory Seats on page 3‑5and Vehicle Personalization onpage 5‑38 for more information.Easy Exit PositionsSecond Row SeatsOn vehicles with a 60/40 split benchor buckets seats, the seatbacks canbe folded for additional cargo space,or the seats can be folded andtumbled for easy entry/exit to thethird row seats, if equipped. Onvehicles with bucket seats, theseatbacks also recline.This feature can move the driverseat rearward and the powersteering column up and forward toallow extra room to exit the vehicle.See Second Row Seats onpage 3‑9 for more information.B:On vehicles with third row seats, theseatbacks can be folded, and theentire seat can be tumbled orremoved from the vehicle.Press to recall the easy exitpositions. Press (C) to fold the mirrors outto the driving position.2. Press (D) to fold the mirrors in tothe folded position.See Power Mirrors on page 2‑17.Interior MirrorThe automatic dimming rearviewmirror reduces the glare of lightsfrom behind the vehicle. Cadillac Escalade/Escalade ESV Owner Manual - 20121-12Black plate (12,1)In BriefThrottle and Brake PedalAdjustmentInterior LightingDome Lamp OverrideDome LampsThe vehicle has adjustable throttleand brake pedals that allow you tochange their positions.The dome lamps are located in theoverhead console.The dome lamp override button islocated next to the exterior lampscontrol.The switch used to adjust thepedals is located on the centerconsole below the climate controlsystem.Press the right and left arrows tomove the pedals either closer orfurther from your body.See Adjustable Throttle and BrakePedal on page 9‑21.They come on when any door isopened and turn off after all thedoors are closed.Turn the instrument panelbrightness knob located belowthe dome lamp override button,clockwise to the farthest position tomanually turn on the dome lamps.The dome lamps remain on until theknob is turned counterclockwise.k : Press the button in and thedome lamps remain off when a dooris opened. Press the button again toreturn it to the extended position sothat the dome lamps come on whena door is opened.
