New Vehicle Limited WarrantyModel Year 2015 VehiclesItems Which Are Covered:DEFECTS: Mercedes-Benz USA, LLC(MBUSA) warrants to the originaland each subsequent owner of anew Mercedes-Benz vehicle that anyauthorized Mercedes-Benz Centerwill make any repairs or replacementsnecessary to correct defects in materialor workmanship arising during thewarranty period.ANY AUTHORIZED MERCEDES-BENZCENTER: Any authorized MercedesBenz Center of the owner’s choicewill perform warranty repairs orreplacements. The vehicle should bedelivered to an authorized MercedesBenz Center during normal servicehours. A reasonable time should beallowed after taking the vehicle to anauthorized Mercedes-Benz Center forperformance of the repair.WARRANTY STARTS: The warrantyperiod starts on the date the vehicle isdelivered to the first retail purchaseror put in service as an authorizedMercedes-Benz Center demonstratoror MBUSA or Mercedes-Benz U.S.International, Inc. TIRES: The tires supplied on your vehicleare covered against defects in materialor workmanship from date of deliveryor when the vehicle was put in service.Coverage should be verified with yourauthorized Mercedes-Benz Center priorto performed service. Should the tirebecome unserviceable for either of theabove reasons, the tire will be replacedfree of charge, including mounting andbalancing, provided 1.6 mm of treaddepth remains over the entire treadsurface. (e Page 15)The tire manufacturer’s warrantycoverage may extend beyond theMercedes-Benz coverage. See tiremanufacturer’s warranty booklet in theowner’s literature package or consultwith the tire manufacturer’s dealer forspecific details.NO CHARGE: Warranty repairs will bemade at no charge for parts and labor.WARRANTY AVAILABLE: This warrantyis applicable only in the United Statesand Puerto Rico. Items Which Are Not Covered:TIRE AND RIM DAMAGE: Damageto the tires such as punctures, cuts,snags, bruises, impact damage andbreaks resulting from pothole impact,curb impact, or from other objects/road hazards is not covered. Damagefrom incorrect inflation, excessiveaxle load, high speed spinning (whenstuck in ice, mud or snow), tire chains,racing or competitive driving events,incorrect mounting or demounting,improper puncture repair, misuse,negligence, alteration and misapplicationis not covered. Rapid or irregular tiretread wear due to lack of tire rotationaccording to the recommended intervalsspecified in your vehicle‘s maintenancebooklet or incorrect wheel alignment ortire balance is not covered. Tire treadwear is also not covered.Damage to the rims resulting frompothole impact, curb impact, or fromother objects/road hazards is notcovered.WHEEL ALIGNMENT: Adjustments forroad crown issues are not covered.BRAKE PADS AND DISCS: Replacementdue to normal wear or as part of regularmaintenance is not covered.WIPER BLADES AND INSERTS: Damagedor worn wiper blades and wiper bladeinserts are not covered.DAMAGE DUE TO ACCIDENTS, MISUSEOR NEGLIGENCE: Accidents or damagefrom objects striking the vehicle. Misuseof the vehicle such as driving into orover potholes, curbs, or other objects/road hazards; overloading, improperoperation, storage or transport (Properuse is described in the Operator’sManual).DAMAGE DUE TO LACK OFMAINTENANCE: Lack of propermaintenance as described in theMaintenance Booklet. Use of serviceparts or fluids, such as paper oil filtersor improper engine oil, which are nonapproved by MBUSA, will cause enginedamage not covered by the warranty.Service and Warranty Information MY 201515

NORMAL MAINTENANCE IS OWNER’SRESPONSIBILITY: Cleaning andpolishing, fluids and filters, replacingworn wiper blades, wiper rubber inserts,brake pads and discs, and clutch discsand pressure plates are some of thenormal maintenance services requiredand are not covered by this warranty.See Maintenance Booklet for details.Damage caused by the use of improperfilters, fluids, cleaners, polishes, orwaxes is not covered.DAMAGE DUE TO ALTERATIONS:Alterations by changing or adding tothe vehicle can adversely affect itsperformance, reliability and longevityand are not covered by this warranty.DAMAGE CAUSED BY IMPROPER BODYREPAIRS: Damage or malfunctionscaused by body repairs not performedin accordance with Mercedes-Benzspecified repair procedures or otherwiseimproperly performed are not coveredby this warranty.16ALTERED ODOMETER: No warrantycoverage shall apply to any vehicle onwhich the odometer has been alteredand/or the actual mileage cannot bedetermined.DAMAGE FROM THE ENVIRONMENT:Parts made from cloth or leather(upholstery, convertible tops, trim items),wood, paint or chrome which have beenaffected by airborne fallout, such aschemical and tree sap, or by road salt,hail, windstorm or other environmentalfactors are not covered by this warranty.DAMAGE TO GLASS: Glass breakageor scratches are not coveredunless positive physical proof ofa manufacturing defect can beestablished.Service and Warranty Information MY 2015

EXTRA EXPENSES: This warranty doesnot cover payment for loss of use ofthe vehicle during warranty repairs norlodging bills, substitute transportationrentals, or other travel costs, telephonecalls, loss of pay, or other economic lossor consequential damages.CHANGES IN DESIGN: The manufacturerhas reserved the right to make anychanges in design or to make additionsto, or upon, its products withoutincurring any obligations to install thesame equipment on motor vehiclespreviously built.DAMAGE TO INTERIOR SURFACES:Damage to finished interior surfacessuch as upholstery, wood, leather,suede, plastic, chrome, glass, rug, andpaint caused by external influence,misuse, or negligence is not covered.Some examples include, but are notlimited to, spills, chafe marks, scratches,and impressions from heavy objectsor clamping force (such as a strap ormounting device). Damage from theuse of third party accessories such assteering wheel locks or vent-mounted airfresheners is also not covered.RACING OR COMPETITIVE EVENTS: Thiswarranty does not cover the costs ofrepairing damage or conditions causedby racing, nor does it cover the repair ofany defects that are found as the resultof participating in a racing event.Service and Warranty Information MY 201517

Things You Should KnowGeneral. Our intention is to repairunder warranty, without charge to you,anything that goes wrong with yourvehicle during the warranty periodwhich is our fault. All we ask is thatyou properly maintain and care for thevehicle and that you have warrantyrepairs performed by an authorizedMercedes-Benz Center.Please note the difference between“defects” and “damage” as used in thewarranty. Defects are covered sincewe, the distributor, are responsible.Conversely, we have no control overdamage caused by things including, butnot limited to, collision, misuse, and lackof or improper maintenance. Therefore,damage for whatever reason is notcovered by the warranty.18It is the owner’s responsibility tomaintain the vehicle according tothe Maintenance Schedule provided.All maintenance services mustbe accomplished to keep yourwarranty coverage valid. Whenrequesting service or repair workunder warranty, the owner mustpresent to the authorized MercedesBenz Center evidence that theperiodic servicing requirementshave been accomplished. Receiptscovering completion of requiredservicing should be retained in theevent a question arises concerningmaintenance.Service and Warranty Information MY 2015

These receipts should be transferredto each subsequent owner of thevehicle. For your convenience, theMaintenance Booklet has beendesigned to incorporate the signatureof your authorized Mercedes-BenzCenter upon completion of therequired maintenance services.This signature is evidence ofcompletion of the maintenanceservices and should be kept togetherwith other receipts, repair orders andinvoices.MBUSA’s obligation under this warrantyis limited to the authorization toexchange or repair at its option suchparts which are acknowledged by itto be defective. In case of defectiveassemblies, factory rebuilt units canbe used in exchange instead of theirrepair. The replaced defective parts orassemblies shall become the propertyof MBUSA. Warranty repairs do notconstitute an extension of the originalwarranty period for the vehicle or a partthereof.If the owner has a warranty claimand can show through receiptedinvoices that the vehicle hasreceived the required servicing, theauthorized Mercedes-Benz Center willperform the warranty work withoutcharging for parts and labor. It is theresponsibility of the owner to proveand the authorized Mercedes-BenzCenter to judge whether the requiredmaintenance service has beenperformed.Service and Warranty Information MY 201519

Insurance Write-Off; or Repaired orReplaced Parts. Any vehicle which hasbeen damaged to such an extent thatthe owner, insurer, financing institutionor leasing company determined thevehicle to be a “total loss”, “write off”or equivalent, is not covered by thiswarranty. This includes but is not limitedto vehicles issued a “salvage”, “scrap”,“dismantled” or similar title under anystate’s law.Any parts repaired or replaced under aninsurance claim or required as a resultof events which are not covered underthis warranty (see “Items Which Are NotCovered”, (e Page 15)), for example,damages due to accidents, misuse,or negligence, and in either case, anysubsequent consequential damageto the vehicle are not covered by thiswarranty.20Paint and Other Appearance Items.Defects in paint, trim or otherappearance items are normallytaken care of during our new vehiclepreparation or by the authorizedMercedes-Benz Center during newvehicle inspection. We suggest thatif you find any paint or appearanceproblems that you advise yourauthorized Mercedes-Benz Center assoon as possible since deterioration dueto use and exposure is not covered bythe warranty.The instructions in your Operator’sManual regarding the care of paint,upholstery, trim items and convertibletops, as applicable, must be followedexplicitly to maintain your warrantycoverage.Service and Warranty Information MY 2015

Body Repair Information. Due to thematerials and assembly procedures usedin the production of Mercedes-Benzvehicles, it is strongly recommendedthat any paint work/body repairs beperformed using Genuine MercedesBenz parts by repair facilities which havebeen certified by MBUSA as having thetools, equipment and training necessaryto perform such repairs. MBUSA hascertified a network of body repairfacilities which are qualified to performboth cosmetic and structural repairs toyour vehicle.
