RIGHT TO INFORMATIONPART-3Procedure followed in decision – making process[Section 4(1)(b)(iii)]All Police officers exercise the powers and duties as prescribed for them underlaw. The channels of supervision are such that the SHO, or officer Incharge of Police Station isresponsible for ensuring effective policing and redressal of public grievance in his jurisdiction. He issupervised by an officer of the rank of Dy. Supdt. of Police. The Superintendent of Police issupervisory incharge of a District, whereas Range is supervised by an Inspector General of Police. TheDirector General of Police exercises overall supervision and control in the State.
