Plug-in Display Unit SD 1Function Product Characteristics SD 1- ServiceFunction The plug-in display unitSD 1 may be used withany KRACHT volumecounter which uses aplug-in connection according to DIN 43650. The display unit is simplyinserted between the plugand the plug socket onthe volume counter. The displayed value willbe the actual flow rateor the volume. The square wave signalremains available forexternal processing. Volume counters alreadysupplied can be equippedwith the plug-in displayunit. To achieve this theamplifier card must beremoved from the plug.4 The plug-in display unit isfreely programmable. Allnecessary settings can beachieved with two keys. The programmed data isstored on an FRAM andtherefore saved in case ofpower failure. As an option the SD 1 isavailable with an analogueoutput (0 -- 20 mA or4 -- 20 mA) proportionalto flow rate or volume orwith two programmablerelay contacts. In bothcases, the square wavesignals are no longeravailable. The SD 1 Service is aplug-in display unit whichmay be used with anyKRACHT volume counterwith plug-in connectionaccording to DIN 43650. The display unit is simplyput on the plug socket ofthe flow meter. The accupack supplies theSD 1 and the sensors withpower. No separate power supplyis necessary. The impulse volume isfreely programmable. All necessary settingscan be achieved withtwo keys. The programmed datais stored on a FRAM andtherefore saved in caseof flat batteries. With the accupack anoperating time of30 hours is possiblewithout recharging. If the accupack drains flatthe SD 1 Service can beoperated and charged withthe enclosed charger.KRACHT GmbH · Gewerbestr. 20 · 58791 Werdohl, Germany · Phone 49 (0) 23 92 / 935-0 · Fax 49 (0) 23 92 / 935 209 · www.kracht-hydraulik.de · info@kracht-hydraulik.de

The required flow rate isset on the AS 8.The flow rate is detectedby the volume counterand fed to the AS 8 as asquare-wave signal.Analogue output0 – 10 Voltor 0 – 20 mA The controller output isconnected to a continuously variable valve via aposition amplifier, or isused to control the speedof a dosing pump.Rotational Speed ControllerRotational speed Ae.g.: 1000 min -1Rotational speedRelayK1K2Rotary transducer A further applicationexample is that of rotational speed regulation. The required speed is seton the AS 8. The actualrotational speed isdetected by the rotarytransducer and fed to theAS 8 as a square-wavesignal.Controller on/offFURotational speed controller The controller output isconnected to the motorvia a frequency converterand used to control therotational speed.FrequencyconverterFunctional Characteristics Two relay contacts enablethe overshoot of permissible error bandwidths to besignalled.12 Programming and settingis carried out by means ofthree keys which areaccessible on removal ofthe front cover. Dosing AS 8 - DOSStop8 Volume indicatione.g.: 2 lVolume counterStartK2F1F2F3K1FailureDosage valveFunctional Characteristics The AS 8 dosing versionis especially designedfor employment in dosinglines. It allows onevolume counter to beconnected. 6 dosages (programmes)can be stored in the AS 8.Specific dosages arecalled up via the threekeys on the front panel. The input values arearranged in menus. The filling process is started by the digital input. The AS 8 resets the lastdosage quantity andswitches the dosage valve. The volume countermeasures the flow anddelivers square wavesignals to the AS 8.The AS 8 sums the inputsignals. When the quantityis reached the dosagevalve will be switched. The second relay contactenables the indication offaulty dosages. The settings are made byusing the three keys on thefront panel. In this system, the volumecounter is installed in anoperating line, to generatepulses which are proportional to the flow rate andto indicate the direction offlow.14 The electrical pulses areconverted by the microcontroller into the physical dimensions of flowrate and volume, or strokeand velocity. Erroneous measurements, due to leakage at theend positions, can beprevented by means of aprogrammable blockingfrequency. The signalsare only processed whenthe flow rate exceeds theblocking frequency. Two relays, an analogueoutput or an RS 232 interface, are available foradditional external processing.
