WELCOME TO TOP 2021 We are very excited to welcome you to this 2021 regional competition. This is our 24th season and, despite the extreme challenges of recent events, we are thrilled to be back with you. The following are the “TOP 10” points to keep in mind for a fun, fair and safe event for everyone. 1.Dance competition by its very nature is a subjective event, meaning it is subject to a wide variety of opinions. The outcome is also subject to a variety of changing circumstances throughout any given day that you likely have no control over. It’s just a dance competition. Please accept it for what it is. Especially this season. Breathe, relax, have fun and enjoy this chance to dance regardless of the outcome. The past year has certainly taught us that you never know when you will be allowed to take the stage again in the future. 2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.Video recording and photography (flash or no flash) will be strictly prohibited by audience members, except during awards presentations. This is a very common practice in the entertainment industry, and with good reason. Studio directors, teachers and other parents tend to get very grouchy when choreography and/or costuming are copied without approval. More importantly, we’re trying to protect the privacy and safety of the kids. The fact is there are people out there of a very questionable nature who may try to use photographic images inappropriately (gross!). Do not leave personal items unattended. Again, the sad fact is that there are those among us who will think nothing of taking stuff that doesn’t belong to them if given the opportunity. TOP cannot be responsible for lost, broken, misplaced or stolen items of any kind. Please be considerate of one another in the dressing areas. Especially under the current circumstances. We request that you limit your time in the dressing areas too. Get in, do your business, then get out. Also, if dressing assistance is necessary, please limit to one adult helper per dancer. You might also consider arriving at the venue in your first costume of the day and leaving while in your last costume. Remember to also practice social distancing as much as possible in the dressing areas, (and in all other areas of the venue too). Masks and social distancing may be required. We will follow and enforce the mandates required by the appropriate authorities for the city/state/venue we are in. Specific information for each show will be posted at talentonparade.com and included with information provided to the studio director. Please be compliant and respectful in following any such mandates as they are put in place for your safety and for the safety of those around you. Also, do not move seating into larger groups than what is preͲset for the day. The saving of seats may also be restricted due to a reduction in seating required for social distancing purposes. With limited seating available, we also ask that extended family members, nonͲdancing friends, etc. watch the show from home on the liveͲstream feed (where available). Dancers should remain in the audience for awards. We will not bring dancers to the stage as a group this season for awards except for selected TOP 10 lineups. Instead, we will be asking you to choose one representative for each act to pick up when called backstage. Specific directions for each awards ceremony will be announced from the stage. Assigned performance times are to be considered approximate only. Flexibility is key to keeping the show moving. Please be ready, and will
