The packaging materialsused are selected from materials whichare environmentally friendly for disposaland should be recycled.Electrical and electronic appliances often contain valuable materials. Theyalso contain specific materials, compounds and components, which wereessential for their correct function andsafety. These could be hazardous to human health and to the environment ifdisposed of with your domestic wasteor if handled incorrectly. Please do not,therefore, dispose of your old appliancewith your household waste.Recycling the packaging reduces theuse of raw materials in the manufacturing process and also reduces theamount of waste in landfill sites.Please dispose of it at your local community waste collection / recyclingcentre for electrical and electronic appliances, or contact your dealer orMiele for advice. You are also responsible (by law, depending on country) fordeleting any personal data that may bestored on the appliance being disposedof. Please ensure that your old appliance poses no risk to children while being stored prior to disposal.6

Inappropriate use can, however, lead to personal injury and damageto property.To protect yourself and to avoid the risk of damage to the washerdryer, please read these instructions carefully before using it forthe first time. They contain important information on its safety, useand maintenance.Keep these instructions in a safe place and pass them on to anyfuture owner.Correct application This washer-dryer is intended for use in domestic households andsimilar working and residential environments. This washer-dryer is intended for use in domestic households forthe following applications only:– washing textiles which have a care label stating that they arewashable.– drying textiles which have been washed in water and have a carelabel stating that they are suitable for tumble drying.Any other usage is not permitted. Miele cannot be held liable fordamage resulting from improper use or incorrect operation of themachine. This washer-dryer is not intended for outdoor use.7

Warning and Safety instructions This washer-dryer can only be used by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge, if they are supervised whilst using it or have been shown howto use it in a safe way and understand and recognise the consequences of incorrect operation.Safety with children Children under eight years of age must be kept away from thewasher-dryer unless they are constantly supervised. Children eight years and older may only use the washer-dryer unsupervised if they have been shown how to use it safely and recognise and understand the consequences of incorrect operation. Children must not be allowed to clean or maintain the washerdryer unsupervised. Please supervise children in the vicinity of the washer-dryer anddo not let them play with it.Technical safety Before setting up the washing-dryer, check it for any externallyvisible damage.Do not install or use a damaged washer-dryer. Before connecting the washer-dryer, ensure that the connectiondata on the data plate (fuse rating, voltage and frequency) match themains electricity supply. If in any doubt, consult a qualified electrician.8

Warning and Safety instructions The electrical safety of this washer-dryer can only be guaranteedwhen correctly earthed.It is essential that this standard safety requirement is met. If in anydoubt, please have the household wiring system tested by a qualified electrician.Miele cannot be held liable for the consequences of an inadequateearthing system (e.g. electric shock). Do not connect the machine to the mains electricity supply by anextension lead, multi-socket adapter or similar. These can overheatand are a fire hazard. Unauthorised repairs could result in unforeseen dangers for theuser, for which the manufacturer cannot accept liability. Repairsshould only be undertaken by a Miele authorised service technician,otherwise any subsequent damage will not be covered by the guarantee. Please observe the instructions in "Installation and connection"and the "Technical data". This washer-dryer is supplied with a special lamp to cope withparticular conditions (e.g. temperature, moisture, chemical resistance, abrasion resistance and vibration).
