CreatorPro LTI Integration How-ToVersion 1.13Please read: Creating a syllabus or overview will not affect the Canvas Syllabus or Syllabus Creator tool.However, If a syllabus is published within CreatorPro LTI, the Canvas Syllabus or Syllabus Creator tool isreplaced with CreatorPro’s Syllabus and to revert the changes a SSD Support Case will need to becreated.This document outlines the updates for CreatorPro v1.13. Features implemented in this update are theresult of a collaboration between the Instructional Design and SSD team.Please note: these are not steps to follow. Starting a FolioPlease note that a folio is indicated as a syllabus or course overview.1) Launching CreatorPro LTI from Canvas menu option Log into CanvasNavigate to the CreatorPro nav menu item Please open SSD Case if you do not see CreatorPro on the Canvas, side navigation menu2) CreatorPro LTI Home screen From the LTI, two tabs are available initially: Folio Manager and Template Manager. Tab: Folio Manager - Information in this view: Displays selected course’s current folio, draft, modified, and published versions Tab: Template Manager An authorized user is allowed to view folio templates for a course’s syllabus oroverviewFolio Manager: All Section search: Click the ‘All Sections’ search button to search through all sections,even sections that you are not enrolled in. The user will be prompted with the above screen, filter simply by typing in the ‘Search2

For Section’ and pressing enter.Users may also use the quick link term drop down to the right of the ‘Search for Section’bar Thebutton gives more details about the section as shown above. Click on the Folio detail Card to enter the editor Below these detail Cards, the user is able to share the folio of their choice if it is published. Lastly, the Enrolled Course Search bar: Search and Filter courses you are enrolled in Search functionality includes but is not limited to: Course name, Semester, Lastmodified date, and Status. If the list exceeds 5 results, using the pagination buttons in the bottom rightcorner, ‘Prev’ and ‘Next’, you may view additional Courses. Additionally, user can use the quick search term drop down to the right of the searchbar to quickly search by term4

3) Creating a new syllabus and overview If a folio does not currently exist, the user is allowed the option to create a NewSyllabus/Overview and Clone Syllabus/Overview via the empty detail CardsNew folio (Syllabus or Overview): Allowing the user to create a syllabus from template Prior to applying the template the user may also preview the template using the ‘ShowPreview’ sliderClone folio: Allowing the user to clone a full syllabusAny user is able to clone from any folio5

Before clone, user is allowed the opportunity to Preview the Folio prior to cloning toensure it is the correct folio4) Restoring/Comparing Syllabus and Overview from previous version The clone syllabus button is located within the action buttons in the nav bar, as highlighted:Selecting this button will lead you to the following screen: When restoring a previous version a menu will prompt:6

Restoring this version will overwrite the current versionComparing versions open a new tab with both previous version and current version side by side,as shown above. Removed context and group components are highlighted in red also appear in the top bar under Added context and groups components are highlighted in green also appear in the top bar under Synced scrolling is enabled by default but you can also scroll the pages individually beclicking the radio button7

5) Syllabus lock During the editing process if a secondary user attempts to edit a syllabus already open byanother user one of two notifications will appear,(left message) is displayed when there is an active user working within the syllabus editor(right message) is displayed when there is an inactive user within the syllabus editor ‘Take Over’ - This allows you to make adjustments as well but if changes are made, whicheveruser that has saved first will be overwritten, however, their adjustments can always be found inthe versions‘Back to syllabus manager’ - returns the user to the home screen in CreatorPro 8

Editing a Syllabus6) Unique/non-unique group components Unique Group Components, only one of these are allowed in the syllabus and are noteditable: Modules Assignments Grading SchemaNon-Unique group components, multiple of these are allowed in the syllabus: Section Header Custom Block Instructor Profile Textbook Table Awards Image Component7) Adding and removing group components and subcomponents Adding new group to the syllabus, Removing an existing group, Click the largericon at the bottom right of the syllabus while in editor,A Side Menu with appear from the right,Select and drag the desired group component into the syllabusClick theicon at the end of the group’s title while in editorClick the trash iconDismissing the Side Menu without adding a group component, select this buttonDeleting subcomponents Only applicable to the Instructor Block and Textbook component Textbook deletion deletes the entire book and functions the same ascomponent deletion Instructor component subcomponent, as shown above.Deletion is as simple as clicking thesign, warning: this will not have asecondary confirmation with the trash icon and will delete on a single click.9

Addition is as simple as selecting theicon8) Adjusting group component ordering Select and hold this icon:Drag and drop the group component in a new location9) Styling text within group components Select the text that you wish to styleA hover menu will appear with your options but the options differ depending on theitem selected, such as: Headers and Content(Textbook, Instructor, Table, and Other) Headers, Textbook, and Instructor content allow the following styling Instructor Profile/Textbook context has the following styling Table context allow the following styling All other content is allowed extensive styling as shown below,10) Modules and Assignments Components Automatically updates from canvas and pulls the structure as they are in Canvas. Thesegroup components are not editable and only display published content within CanvasModules:10

Assignments11) Grading Schema group component This component is not editableThe information reflected is pulled from the grading schema found within Canvas The above information is reflected within the syllabus as:11

12) Textbook group component Incorporating a book using ISBN: Below the title in the Textbook group component, you will see a ‘Search by ISBN’ Enter the desired ISBN Click ‘search’ button If the ISBN is found, it will return with the textbook details Add the textbook details by clicking the ‘Add Book’ button If the ISBN is not found then you may still add the textbook details manuallyIncorporating a book manually: Click on the book image to change the image, you will be prompted with a screencontaining previously uploading images but resembles:12

Adjusting book title, publisher, and other textbook information is as easy as selectingthe incorrect information and adjusting it manuallyRemoval options: Click the Click the trash icon to remove the entire textbook Click theicon at the bottom right corner of the textbook’s group while in editor toremove that specific textbook Click the trash icon to remove the entire textbook Click theitemicon at the end of the textbook’s group while in editoricon at the end of the textbook’s context while in editor to remove the13

13) Section Header This component has one purpose: add a header.14) Custom Block Similar to the section header, this component has two entry fields: Header Body15) Image Component This component was created in place of allowing image in custom blocksWhen first dragging component into the folio the user is presented with three options asto how the image and text will be placed. Once selected an image can be uploaded by clicking in the image space.Additionally, the text can be adjusted the same as a generic component.16) Table The generic table is a table component with edible header cells and body cell The generic table has header and footers as well, as shown above.Table text editor options include:Row optionsColumn OptionsCell Splitting14

Vertical alignHorizontal align17) Awards The awards component allows for the Search of general Awards and the addition of awards notdisclosed with search by clicking the. The following will appear:15

Completing a Syllabus18) Saving Saving comes in two forms, manual saving and autosaving. Manual Saving, will require you to click the ‘Save’ button located between the copy and share buttonsAutosaving, requires no effort and will be updated with small adjustmentswithin the Syllabus itself19) Previewing Syllabus Navigate to the top of the syllabus while in editor,Click the ‘Preview’ button in the top right of the screen To exit, select the exit preview button at the top of the screen20) Publishing Syllabus Navigate to the top of the syllabus while in editor,Click the ‘Publish’ button in the top right of the screen Once the Folio is published, you will receive a confirmation message21) Exporting Syllabus These options are available only after publishing.16

PDF - located as the first icon, To the top left of the syllabus, a pdf document button is visible that allows for worddocument exportWord document - located as the second icon, To the top left of the syllabus, a word document button is visible that allows for worddocument exportSharing - produces an HTML link for published syllabus, located in two locations: In the folio manager, a share button is located below it’s associated folio. To the top left of the syllabus, the share button provides an HTML address*These options are available only after publishing.17
