This ensures that graduates are equipped with the appropriate knowledge and enterprisingspirit to practise professionally and ethically. Thus, the course will:address industry’s demand for graduates who can apply the principles of quantity surveying to theexecution of projects in the construction sector at pre and post contract stagesenable students to pursue professional careers in commercial management and quantity surveying at alevel which requires the exercise of sound judgement, and initiative, and the ability to make informeddecisions in complex and unpredictable circumstances that reflect a responsible, ethical, and sociallyaware outlookfurnish students with a detailed understanding of the principles of commercial management and quantitysurveying , combined with an understanding of wider construction issues such as constructiontechnology, economics and finance, construction contracts and lawprovide a broadly based education in commercial management and quantity surveying, combined with anappreciation of construction related areas, thereby providing access to a wide range of career paths withinthe construction fieldrequire students to participate in group projects where the project team members are drawn from a rangeof multi-disciplinary construction disciplines
