ATC Dublin ClassroomSTUDYING WITH ATC IN IRELANDCOURSE CURRICULUMOur curriculum is based around the CEFR (Common European Framework ofReference for Languages), and focuses very much on student-centred learning andthe attainment of specific communicative goals. Our teachers use methodologiessuch as CLT (Communicative Language Teaching), TBL (Task Based Learning), andCLL (Co-operative Language Learning).LEVEL TESTINGBefore arriving in ATC, students take an online placement test to assess theirknowledge of grammar and vocabulary. On their first day of school, they willmeet with a teacher and have a short conversation. The teacher will assess theirlistening and speaking skills, and ask them about their specific learning needs.They will then be placed in a class appropriate to their ability and needs.CLASS STRUCTUREEach lesson is 60 minutes. Classes are available at all levels year round. ATC classeshold a maximum of 15 students, but you can expect an average of 10 to 12students in class at most times of the year.PROGRESS OF LEARNINGAssessment of progress is done in class every week. Particular focus is put onstudents' progress in their speaking and writing output. Each week studentsare given structured feedback from their teachers on their speaking and writingskills. ATC aims to see students improving at a rate of one level per 8-12 weeks.CERTIFICATIONAll students receive a certificate of attendance on completion of the course, whichincludes a short didactic report.
