CHAPTER IVFINDINGA. FindingIn this chapter, the writer has discovered the main partsof research finding. There showed idiom found in the songlyrics of Adele’s “25” album and how can the song be used asEnglish teaching material.At the first section, the writer will analyze the songlyrics of Adele in “25” album on the transcriptions thatretrieved from Adele official website. After that the writerwill classify the idiomatic expression found on it. There willbe eleven songs will be analyzed by the writer.The second one, the writer will try to figure out themeaning of the idiom that has been classified on the previousstep. To help the writer finding the meaning of idiom foundprecisely, the writer will use the idiom in the dictionary as atool. If the writer does not find the meaning of the idiom inthe dictionary, the writer will look for it on the trustworthyand credible sources on the internet such as CambridgeAdvance Learning online dictionary, the free dictionary,McGraw hills online dictionary, Merriam-Webster onlinedictionary or other online dictionaries.50

The third step or the next sections, the writer will findout one of possible ways to teach idiom by using idiom thathas been found in that has been analyzed in the previous stepsin English teaching and learning.1. Types of Idiom in Adele’s Album Based on AdamMakkai TheoryThis study will analyze the types of idiom in Adele’ssong lyrics. The idioms the used in Adele’s song lyricsafter the writer analyzed it was only three types of idioms.There are phrasal verb idioms, Tournure Idioms, andIrreversible Binomial idioms. Whereas Compound Idiom,Incorporating Verb Idiom, Pseudo Idiom Could not befound by the writer during the analysis. Those are thetypes of idiom which were used in Adele’s song lyric.
