Admission RequirementsAdmission to OCU’s graduate programs is open to all studentsholding a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited collegeor university and meeting the criteria indicating high potentialto succeed in graduate-level work. Please see program descriptions in this catalog for specific admission information.Admission ProcedureOffice of Admissions/GraduateOklahoma City University2501 North BlackwelderOklahoma City, OK 73106Application: Submit a completed application for graduateadmission to the Office of Admissions/Graduate.Transfer credit is approved by the dean of the student’s schoolonly after the student has been admitted to Oklahoma CityUniversity. Petitions for transfer of graduate credit must be submitted to the dean of the student’s school. No course credit maybe transferred unless the grade received was at least a B (3.00)from an accredited institution. Correspondence courses are notaccepted toward a graduate degree.NONDEGREE-SEEKING STUDENTADMISSIONA student who does not wish to work toward an advanced degree,but who seeks to earn graduate credits for appropriate coursesmay enter graduate school as a nondegree-seeking student. No student will be allowed to enroll in any semester or term ifhis or her account is past due.No student will be given a letter of good standing, transcript, ordiploma until all financial obligations to the university are paid.All tuition, fees, and charges made by the university are payableat the Cashier’s Office. Students may also make payments totheir accounts online at the OCU Web for Students.Payments to student accounts are applied first to tuition andfees and then to other charges. The only exception to this application of payment is donor restriction on a gift or endowedscholarship.ARN CVi ot HIVsit a c Aok ur Lcu ren.e tdu cafo talort ghecurA music major will pay the general tuition, which includes twohalf-hour lessons. Charges for additional lessons and for thosenot required in curriculum are based on the individual teacher’sfees. (Contact the School of Music for a list of the teachers andtheir individual fees.) Special practice arrangements will bemade for the student enrolled only in applied music. An appliedmusic fee will be charged to any student enrolled in appliedmusic. For applied vocal music classes, an additional charge isassessed for the accompanist.RULES GOVERNING PAYMENT OF TUITIONAll tuition charges and fees are due on the first day of class foreach semester or term. Students, at the discretion of StudentAdministrative Services, may be allowed to contract for deferredpayment arrangements provided all prior charges have beenpaid in full.SPECIAL SERVICE FEESFees for the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 academic years are published annually in a separate tuition and fees announcement.The following fees typically are paid by all students but are subject to change annually.Deferred contract arrangements for fall and spring semesterswill be allowed as follows: one-fourth of the unpaid balanceafter financial aid, if any, has been taken into consideration,will be due on the published first day of class. Three additional payments will be due in accordance with the deferred payment contract. If the unpaid balance is paid within ten daysof the due date of the first installment, no interest will becharged.There is a student services fee assessed during each semesteror summer term in which a student is enrolled.Deferred payment agreements are available for summer termsand accelerated cycles with two payments. Further informationabout deferred payment agreements may be obtained from theCashier’s Office.All students pay the academic enrichment fee on a per-creditbasis.
