J UNE 21, 202012 TH S UNDAYFrom the PastorINO RDINARY T IMEMass IntentionsMonday, June 22, 2020 WeekdayMy Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,Today we celebrate the Patronal Feast of our Parish. This Feast was established so that we might honor thelove of Jesus Christ with more devotion and zeal, underthe symbol of the Sacred Heart. This Love induced Himnot only to suffer and to die for the redemption of allmankind, but also to institute the Sacrament of His Bodyand Blood in commemoration of His own death. This devotion is of great antiquity, and it was reserved toSt. Margaret Mary Alacoque of the Order of the Visitation to make it public. During the octave of CorpusChristi in 1690, our Blessed Lord appeared to her and, disclosing His Heart, said: “Behold this Heart, which, notwithstanding the burning love for man with which itis consumed and exhausted, meets with no other returnfrom the generality of Christians than sacrilege, contempt, indifference, and ingratitude.”Reflecting on the world’s situations, we must agree thatthe Words of our Blessed Lord are so true. How manyhave abandoned their Faith or, even in some cases, mockit. Our Lord suffered and died for us out of His tremendous Love. Let us, as members of the parish dedicated toHis Most Sacred Heart, strive to make His Love evermore present to the world around us.I take this opportunity to wish all of our Fathers a veryBlessed Father’s Day. Many of you know that I just lostmy father this past week. Thank you for all of your prayers, support and kind words. Please pray for the reposeof his soul.Robert D. They will undertake interior renovations of the buildings during the summer.Proceeds from the sale were 830,000 and have been deposited in parish bank accounts. In consultation with the Finance Council, I will carefully considerother uses of the funds. May I remind you that your continued use of the regular offertory envelopes is very important, since those funds support the ongoing mission and expenses of the Parish.God bless you for all the sacrifices you make on behalf of your parish.
