It was instituted following a suggestion in 2005 by Rev.Clarence Williams to Sr. Patricia Downs, Director of the MissionCenter and National Shrine of St. Katharine Drexel / 2005 GALACommittee Chair, and Sr. Juliana Haynes, Director of Public Relationsat the time.Between the years 2006-2009 the award presentation became part ofthe annual GALA event. From 2010-2017, it was presented followingthe St. Katharine Drexel Feast Day Mass, and in 2018, it returned aspart of the SBS GALA event.Josephine C.
