In this faculty we combine top facilities, state-of-the-art technology andstimulating training to produce highly sought-after graduates in the fields of Civil,Electrical, Industrial and Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, InformationTechnology, Quality and Operations Management, Quantity Surveying, andConstruction Management.The Faculty comprises three schools which include the Schools of Engineering, theBuilt Environment and Information and Communication Technology. All programmes,where applicable, are accredited by relevant professional bodies, which is an indicationof the quality of education in this faculty.The BSc (Construction Studies), BSc (Hons) (Construction Management) andMSc (Built Environment) are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOBUK) and the South African Council for the Project and Construction ManagementProfessions (SACPCMP). The BSc Construction Economics and BSc (Hons) QuantitySurveying are accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Thetwo latter programmes as well as the National Diploma in Building and the BTechdegree (Quantity Surveying) in the School of Built Environment are accredited by theSouth African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP). The BEngMechatronics and all the National Diplomas and BTech engineering programmes areaccredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA). The engineeringqualifications are internationally recognised in terms of the Washington, Sydney andDublin Accords. All the undergraduate and BTech programmes in the School of ICT,which hosts the Sub-Saharan Africa Cisco Academy Training Centre, contain aselection of Cisco-certified courses which allows us to provide internationallyrecognised IT specialists.Apart from the academic departments, various institutes, centres and units are alsohoused in each school to promote their research, technology transfer, non
