SPRING 2020 Zero Cost & Low Cost Textbook SectionsThis class list identifies sections in the Spring 2020 term that are defined as Zero Cost and Low Costtextbook sections. In compliance with Senate Bill-1359, “Zero Cost Textbook” and Hartnell’s AcademicSenate Resolution 19-2, “Designating Low-Cost Textbook Options” this list of section identifies ZeroCost and Low Cost sections with instructional materials more affordable than traditional publisheroptions.Zero Cost Textbook: Instructor uses digital or other instructional materials that are free of charge tostudents.Low Cost Textbook: Instructor uses instructional materials that costs 40.00 or less, generallyconsidered low-cost.Please note there may still be other non-textbook mandatory costs associated with some of thesesections (e.g. scantrons, scientific calculators, laboratory materials and/or supplies, etc.).Under some circumstances, faculty may have to adjust selection of instructional materials and this canaffect student costs. The Net-Zero riteria are part of the STi’s Net-Zero Standard. The Net-Zero Standard, which entails both the Criteria and forthcoming Net-Zero Guidance, will be finalized by November 2021 in advance of the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26).
