The Pastoral Charge of Mount GambierPresbyterian Church of South AustraliaThe regional city of Mount Gambier is situated about 450kms south-east of Adelaide and 450kms west of Melbourne. Majorprimary industries include forestry, dairy, agriculture, sheep, beef, and pork, with wine not too far away. Our city also contains tertiaryeducation, aged-care, hospital and allied medical services, alongwith government agencies and shopping centres which serve thewhole South-East of South Australia and South-West Victoria.Mount Gambier Presbyterian has been part of this community for 160 years. Thoughour heritage is significant, our purpose is defined by the Gospel. Our Congregationis comprised of some whose families have been part of this community forgenerations, others who have come in more recent years to settle as part of thecommunity, and some who join for shorter periods of time while pursuing vocationalor educational opportunities. This mix of backgrounds and experiences makes for a vibrant congregational life, one which purposefully seeks: to introduce people of all ages and backgrounds toJesus; to encourage each other in our growth as disciples of Jesus; and toexpress our experience of God’s love in Jesus through serving one another andour community.Aspiring to be a healthy local church, we seek to support the other PresbyterianChurches in our region and State, participate in the ministries of our NationalChurch, and we have partnerships with local churches in Zimbabwe and TimorLeste. We gather to worship each Sunday at 9.30am and 5.30pm, with Services usuallybeing live-streamed. Other aspects of church life include Growth Groups, SundaySchool, a Care & Concern ministry, and more. Our website is https://mountgambier.church/ where contact details and otherinformation is readily available.Gary WareMinister1PWAD PCA

READING THROUGH THE WHOLE BIBLE!This Bible Reading Calendar will take you through the whole Bible in a one to four years. Itis always good to be reading the New Testament at least every second year when reading thewhole Bible for the first time. One reading per day cycle could be:Year 1 – 0T1Year 2 - NTYear 3 – OT2Year 4 – NTYear 5 – OT1 Or:Year 1 – NTYear 2 – OT1Year 3 – NTYear 4 – OT2Year 5 – NT Two readings per day could be:Year 1 – NT & 0T1 Year 2 – NT & OT2 Year 3 – NT & 0T1 Year 4 – NT & OT2Bible Reading Suggestions The central thing is not to finish the reading, but to spend some time with the Lord.God willing, there will be a next year / a next time. Read enough to find one thing that stands out to you in what you’ve read. This Bible reading calendar was based on the paragraph divisions in the King JamesBible. Modern translations like the NIV have different paragraph divisions. Feel freeto adjust your daily readings to your translation’s paragraph divisions. This calendarhas readings of varying lengths. Remember, daily Bible reading is not a race to finish, but an opportunity daily to sit atthe feet of Jesus for a little while. It is some personal space for you to spend with Himyourself. It is also personal time for a couple to spend time in the Word together - with yourLord and with each other – a precious three-some time.A couple-time together with the Lord in His Word does involve listening and talking –not just silent contemplation and thought. A word to wise husbands is: take the time. There is a richness in fellowship andcommunion with each other and the Lord that will bless couples in every generation.Remember you have two eyes and one mouth! Listen to the Lord in His Word twice as muchas you pray.Write down today’s fact, insight, understanding, Writing fixes what you have seen in yourmind and memory. Use a diary or device. The PWAD Aid to Devotion “Bible Guideposts” was produced originally in a weeklyChurch Notice sheet as a daily help for congregational members to read the whole Bible forthe first time. Each Guidepost consists of two or three sentences per reading, written to givesome understanding, relevant information or connection across the Bible as anencouragement to continue. They can be downloaded as a document from the PWADwebsite – see Page 27.2PWAD PCA
