Front SeatsPower SeatsThe power seat controls are located on the outboardside of the front seats. Move the seat forward or rearward by sliding thecontrol forward or rearward. Raise or lower the front part of the seat cushionby moving the front of the control up or down. Raise or lower the rear part of the seat cushionby moving the rear of the control up or down. Raise or lower the entire seat by moving theentire control up or down.The power reclining seatback control is located behindthe power seat control on the outboard side of theseats. See Power Reclining Seatbacks on page 1-8.Your vehicle has a memory function which allowsseat settings to be saved and recalled. See MemorySeat, Mirrors, and Pedals on page 1-6.Driver’s Seat with Power Seat Control,Power Recline, and Power Lumbar shown1-2

Power LumbarIf the seats have power lumbar, the controls used tooperate this feature are located on the outboard sideof the seats. To increase lumbar support, press and holdthe front of the control. To decrease lumbar support, press and holdthe rear of the control. To raise the height of the lumbar support,press and hold the top of the control. To lower the height of the lumbar support,press and hold the bottom of the control.Release the control when the lower seatback reachesthe desired level of lumbar support.Your vehicle may have a memory function which allowsseat settings to be saved and recalled. See MemorySeat, Mirrors, and Pedals on page 1-6 for moreinformation.Keep in mind that as your seating position changes,as it may during long trips, so should the position ofyour lumbar support. Adjust the seat as needed.1-3

z (Heated Seat and Seatback):Heated SeatsIf the front seats have theheated seat feature, thebuttons used to control thisfeature are located onthe climate control panel.To heat the entireseat, press the bottom button with the heated seatand seatback symbol.This symbol will appear on the climate control displayto indicate that the feature is on. Press the buttonto cycle through the temperature settings of high,medium, and low and to turn the heated seat off.Indicator bars next to the symbol designate the levelof heat selected: three for high, two for medium, and one for low.The heated seats will be canceled ten seconds afterthe ignition is turned off. If you want to use the heatedseat feature after you restart the vehicle, you willneed to press the appropriate heated seat button again. (Heated Seatback):To heat only the seatback,press the top button with the heated seatback symbol.This symbol will appear on the climate control displayto indicate that the feature is on. Press the buttonto cycle through the temperature settings of high,medium, and low and to turn the heated seatback off.Indicator bars next to the symbol designate the levelof heat selected: three for high, two for medium,and one for low.1-4If your vehicle has heated and cooled seats, seeHeated and Cooled Seats on page 1-5.

Memory Seat, Mirrors, and PedalsYour vehicle has the memory package.The controls for thisfeature are located onthe driver’s door, and areused to program andrecall memory settingsfor the driver’s seat,outside mirrors, and theadjustable throttle andbrake pedal feature,if your vehicle has it.To save your positions in memory, do the following:1. Adjust the driver’s seat, including the seatbackrecliner and lumbar, both outside mirrors, andthe throttle and brake pedals to a comfortableposition.See Outside Power Foldaway Mirrors on page 2-52and Adjustable Throttle and Brake Pedal onpage 2-34 for more information.Not all mirrors will have the ability to save andrecall the mirror positions.2. Press and hold button 1 until two beeps let youknow that the position has been stored.A second seating, mirror, and throttle and brake pedalposition can be programmed by repeating the abovesteps and pressing button 2.To recall the memory positions, the vehicle must be inPARK (P). Press and release either button 1 or button 2corresponding to the desired driving position. Theseat, outside mirrors, and adjustable throttle and brakepedals will move to the position previously stored.You will hear a single beep.1-6

If you use the remote keyless entry transmitter to enteryour vehicle and the remote recall memory featureis on, automatic seat, mirror, and adjustable pedalmovement will occur. See “MEMORY SEAT RECALL”under DIC Vehicle Customization on page 3-57 formore information.To stop recall movement of the memory feature atany time, press one of the power seat controls,memory buttons, power mirror buttons, or adjustablepedal switch.If something has blocked the driver’s seat and/or theadjustable pedals while recalling a memory position,the driver’s seat and/or the adjustable pedals recallmay stop working. If this happens, remove theobstruction and press the appropriate function controlfor two seconds. Then try recalling the memoryposition again by pressing the appropriate memorybutton. If the memory position is still not recalling,see your dealer for service.Easy Exit SeatThe control for this feature is located on the driver’sdoor between buttons 1 and 2.With the vehicle in PARK (P), the exit position canbe recalled by pressing the exit button. You will heara single beep. The driver’s seat will move back.If the easy exit seat feature is on in the DriverInformation Center (DIC), automatic seat movementwill occur when the key is removed from the ignition.See “EASY EXIT SEAT” under DIC VehicleCustomization on page 3-57 for more information.Further programming for the memory seat featurecan be done using the DIC. You can select theautomatic easy exit seat feature or the remotememory seat recall feature.For programming information, see DIC VehicleCustomization on page 3-57.1-7

Power Reclining SeatbacksDriver’s Seat with Power Seat Control,Power Recline, and Power Lumbar shownThe controls for the power reclining seatback are locatedon the outboard side of the front seats behind the powerseat control. To recline the seatback, tilt the top of the controlrearward. To bring the seatback forward, tilt the top of thecontrol forward.1-8

Head Restraints{CAUTION:Sitting in a reclined position when your vehicleis in motion can be dangerous. Even if youbuckle up, your safety belts cannot do theirjob when you are reclined like this.The shoulder belt cannot do its job. In a crash,you could go into it, receiving neck or otherinjuries.The lap belt cannot do its job either. In a crashthe belt could go up over your abdomen.The belt forces would be there, not at yourpelvic bones. This could cause seriousinternal injuries.For proper protection when the vehicle is inmotion, have the seatback upright. Then sitwell back in the seat and wear your safetybelt properly.Do not have a seatback reclined if your vehicle is moving.Adjust the head restraint so that the top of the restraintis at the same height as the top of the occupant’shead. This position reduces the chance of a neckinjury in a crash.Your vehicle has a memory function which allowsseat settings to be saved and recalled. See MemorySeat, Mirrors, and Pedals on page 1-6.1-9

Pull the head restraint upto raise it. To lower thehead restraint, pressthe release button (A),located on the top ofthe seatback, whileyou push the headrestraint down.Rear SeatsRear Seat OperationThe rear seat is a 60/40 split bench seat that can befolded to give you more cargo space and access tothe folding midgate. See Midgate on page 2-13for more information on operation of the folding midgate.To fold either side of the seat do the following:1. Push the rear seat head restraints all the way down.The front seats may have head restraints that alsotilt forward and rearward.To tilt the head restraint, grasp the top of the restraintwhile pressing the button (B), located on the inboardside of the head restraint, and move it forward orrearward until the desired locking position is reached.Try to move the head restraint after the button isreleased to make sure that it is locked in place.The second row seats may have head rests that canbe adjusted up and down, but they do not tilt.1-102. Pull the seat looplocated where theseatback andseat cushion meet.The seat cushionwill release and allowyou to tilt it towardthe front of the vehicle.Notice: Folding a rear seat with the safety beltsstill fastened may cause damage to the seat or thesafety belts. Always unbuckle the safety beltsand return them to their normal stowed positionbefore folding a rear seat.

{CAUTION:A safety belt that is improperly routed, notproperly attached, or twisted will not providethe protection needed in a crash. The personwearing the belt could be seriously injured.After raising the rear seatback, always checkto be sure that the safety belts are properlyrouted and attached, and are not twisted.3. Fold the seatback forward until it is flat.You may have to move the front seatsforward slightly to do this.4. Repeat the procedure for the other side.To return the seats to the normal position, pushthe seatback up and fold the seat cushion down.{CAUTION:If the seatback is not locked, it could moveforward in a sudden stop or crash. That couldcause injury to the person sitting there. Alwaysbe sure to press the rear of the seat cushiondown. This action locks the seatback in place.Push and pull on the seatback to make sure it is locked.Raise the head restraint.1-11

Safety Belts{CAUTION:Safety Belts: They Are for EveryoneThis part of the manual tells you how to use safetybelts properly. It also tells you some things you shouldnot do with safety belts.People riding on the tailgate (if equipped) caneasily lose their balance and fall even whenthe vehicle is operated at low speeds. Fallingfrom a moving vehicle may result in seriousinjuries or death.{CAUTION:Do not let anyone ride where he or she cannotwear a safety belt properly.
