Annual ConventionNovember 6, 2021

President’s MessageWhile we had a tough 2020 Fair and Show season, MAAFS still tried to stayconnected with our members and associates through our “Spoonful of Sugar”virtual evening sessions. Thanks to Bobby Fogel’s coordination and knowledge of“Zoom” we had an opportunity share some of the things Fairs and Shows weredoing to stay active in the community. We learned about drive-thru fairs, drivethru food events, drive-in movie nights and virtual livestock auctions. It was ourFairs and Shows that used imagination and creativity to get through a very toughyear. We were also able to provide a virtual MAAFS convention which includedguest speakers from across the country. It was a great way to stay connected andlearn from others experience. This year most of our Fairs and Shows were able to open in-person, while stayingin compliance with local and state mandates. What kept us striving to return in2021? A “force” within us. A desire to provide an event that shares our passion foragriculture, education, community and our heritage. That “force” is ourAgricultural Fairs and Shows.Congratulations to everyone for using your “force” to provide an event that helpedyour community get back to a feeling of “normalcy”. We have learned a lot fromthis pandemic and have come through with greater desire to provide the best Fairsand Shows possible. That’s why MAAFS presents the annual conference and say“May The Fairs Be With You”!Sincerely,Sue Sullivan,MAAFS president

American Revolution has fallen into the condition that overtakes so many of the great . 4 events of the past; it is, as Professor Trevor-Roper has written in another connection, taken for granted: "By our explanations, interpretations, assumptions we gradually make it seem automatic, natural, inevitable; we remove from it the sense of wonder, the unpredictability, and therefore the freshness .
