This has apush button, four speed Powershift(clutchless) in each of the threeranges. It takes variable gradientsand load conditions in its stride.Just press the buttons on therange change lever for smooth, onthe-go changes. To the left of thesteering column a lever controlsthe clutchless PowerShuttle.05 Sequential gearshifts on MF 1529and MF 1532The MF 1529 and MF 1532are specified with an 8F/8Rmechanical transmission. Twolevers situated close to theoperator’s left hand, control fourmain gears and the two rangesavailable. Both levers operate ina straight line so gear selectionis sequential; 1-2-3-4 or Hi andLow. This means it is exceptionallyeasy to use. To the left of thesteering column a ‘shuttle’ leverlets you select direction of travel,forward reverse. A creeper gearset is available for the 8F/8Rtransmission and provides a thirdrange of very slow speeds.04 3rd party cabsare available formost modelsThe MF 1523 features ahydrostatic transmission thatoffers an infinite choice of speedsto match the work you are doing.With a high and low range tochoose from, the direction of travelis controlled by pushing either theforward or the backwards footpedal. In the forward directionthe speed can be ‘locked’ with acruise control lever. This lets yourelax your feet on the platformfloor and focus on steering thetractor, on a job like mowinggrass for example.The MF 1540 and MF 1547 (aswell as being specified with ahydrostatic transmission) canhave a full 12F/12R mechanicaltransmission. This features fourmain gears available in threeranges, to make the twelvespeeds and includes a mechanicalforward reverse ‘shuttle’ controlto the left of the steering column.03 Great visibility- all roundThe MF 1531 has a hydrostatictransmission as standard. Itoperates in the same way buthas three ranges for greaterversatility.
