I have learnt web application architecture, programming forclient and server side, data access and statement management. In this course, not only did welearn the fundamentals to build a food delivery or online shopping website; we also had theopportunity to implement our own websites.Fang ZiyingClass of2021MPEThis course has enhanced my problem-solving skills which in turn, helped me to ace relatedjob interviews after graduation. In addition, we learnt how to collaborate via online tools suchas GitHub. The varied skillsets and experience obtained have extensively prepared me for mycurrent job scope.ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATIONWhat will I learn?FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS IN ROBOTICS Model a robot manipulator with multiple degrees of freedom, plan a task for the robot to perform, design and analyse robotcontrollers to execute the taskWORKING BASIC PRINCIPLES OF ROBOT SENSORS ANDECONOMICS ANALYSIS OF YOUR ROBOT PROJECT IN ACOMPANYWhat skills will I develop?PROBLEM-SOLVINGPossible CareersTRANSDISCIPLINARYTHINKING Robotics/Automation Engineer Intelligent Systems EngineerOur DC Super Senior Says:If you have ever wanted to build one of those fancyrobotic arms that does literally anything from buildingcars to frying eggs in a pan, this course will be an excellent place to start. The course providesconcise, yet detailed content that teaches you how a robot moves, how it sees, how it thinkswhen given a task or problem, and even determine if using a robot is worth the investmentat all.I had the opportunity to partake in a group project to market a robotic arm. Through the manyhours of discussions and research with my fellow teammates, I learnt much about collaboratingwith others to market and present an engineering-related product to an audience.Chua Wei PngClass of2021Till today, I am still applying concepts learnt such as use of rotation matrices and knowledgeof the various sensors. On top of that, I now have a better appreciation towards how roboticsmanipulators work, and the line of thought behind designing an automated process.06

ENGINEERING UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMESSchool of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE)STUDENTS' EXPERIENCEFind out more about the Information Engineering and Media (IEM) programme and student life at NTU EEE from our current students.I like how diverse the IEM programme is. This programme offers a variety of coursesfrom different schools, such as the School of Art, Design and Media (ADM), Wee Kim WeeSchool of Communication and Information (WKWSCI), and School of Computer Science andEngineering (SCSE), equipping us with both the technical competencies as well as art andmedia skills. The IEM programme has allowed me to learn a wide range of interesting courses thatcorrelate with one another. For instance, the knowledge from ADM courses have made iteasier for me to understand the designs of a game element or a webpage to make it visuallymore appealing to people. Another highlight of the IEM programme is the learning of atleast 1 programming language per semester such as C programming, Java, Python, C#,MYSQL, PHP, HTML and CSS. I have further developed my soft skills such as communicationand teamwork through these courses.Khoo Kai Yi, ChloeYear 4In summary, my education journey at NTU EEE has been a fun and engaging experience.IEM is a mix of arts and engineering where I can be exposed to many different disciplines. As someone who is passionate in creating art and tinkering, IEM is the true interdisciplinaryexperience I need which I cannot find anywhere else. The Design and Innovation Project (DIP) and Introduction to Design and Project (IDP)courses taught me the ins and outs of developing an Android application. They haveprepared me well for my internship as an Android Engineer at Circles.Life. In addition, thesecourses have also helped me and my team in presenting our idea for the Microsoft ImagineCup 2022 Epic Challenge where we won in the Asia region. I have also participated in othercompetitions such as the Shopee Product & Design Challenge which gave me a preview toproduct management; and the SCDF x IBM- Lifesavers’ Innovation Challenge that introducedme to IoT development. Through participation in different competitions, I have gainedinsights into solving real-world problems.Lee Jia WeiYear 4In short, my experience at NTU EEE has been very fulfilling and rewarding as I had manyopportunities to learn and grow.10
