Whilst the mornings were chilly, we were blessed withthree lovely days of weather in which to enjoy all of the activities on offer. Thereis so much to see and do at Sovereign Hill and this camping program over thelast three days was a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore thehistory of the goldfields extensively and appreciate more fully the conditionsexperienced by miners who came from all over the world to seek their fortunes! This was our school’s first camping experience at Sovereign Hill and I would liketo take this opportunity to thank Simon Radford (Year 4 Leader) for all of hisexhaustive efforts over recent months to plan such a memorable campingprogram for our Year 4 students. The camp was also supported by a great band of staff and parents who workedtirelessly around the clock to provide a high level of care and support for allstudents. On behalf of all of the students who enjoyed such a valuable and engagingcamp, we extend our deepest thanks to: Staff: Simon Radford, Vicki Symons,Bec Barham, Giorgia Moss, Tracy Carroll and Belinda Gill.Parents: Andrea Brereton, Beth Asher, Christine Spurling, Emily Tunks, SaraWilliams and Tom John.(Continued on page 2)*Tuesday 14th JuneSchool Tour 9:30am

Ongoing Staffing ChallengesWe would like to take this opportunity to again thank all families for their patience and support over these recentweeks as the school continues to be deeply impacted each day by staff who become COVID positive. Wherepossible, we have been fortunate to engage a small pool of relief staff who work fairly exclusively at our school.Sadly however, on days where relief staff have been unavailable and we have had no other internal options, wehave needed to split students to other classes. We understand everyone’s frustration on this matter andcontinue to do our best to mitigate these staffing challenges.Early Pick Up ProceduresA quick reminder that students must be signed out at the main office when getting picked up early through theschool day. If possible, we ask that parents try to avoid picking up early between 1:40pm – 2:30pm whilst thestudents are out in the yard as it can be very time consuming for our office team to locate students during thisperiod. We thank you in advance for your support on this matter.Enjoy the rest of your week: Jim Cahill—PrincipalSemester One 2022—(Term 2) Assembly RotationsTerm 2 – 26th April to 24th JuneWeek 4Monday 16th MaySeniorWeek 5Monday 23rd MayJuniorthWeek 6Monday 30 MaySeniorWeek 7Monday 6 JuneJuniorthWeek 8Monday 13 June – Queens BirthdayWeek 9Monday 20th JunePublic HolidayTBAWilly FRENCH CLUB!Foreign language learning strengthens critical and creative thinking, informs one’s mothertongue, and opens up a world of possibilities.Willy French Club helps foster curiosity and a sense of achievement.Small-group learning with a highly experienced teacher.Children of all ages and experience welcome.Jim Callahan—jim.callahan@lcfclubs.com.au Mobile 0432 719 034Wednesdays 4.00pm-4.45pm (online in Term 4)Normally at: Williamstown Community Centre, 14 Thompson St
