PROPERTY ACCESS AND DESCRIPTIONThe PERL claim (claim# 594435) lies in the Cascade Mountain area, approximately 12km NE of Hope, east of the Coquihalla Highway. Access is from the Carolin mine exit, east on the Dewdney forest road, above Dewdney creek. The PERL claim encompasses 272.85 hectares in 13 cells. Elevation runs fromapproximately 250 metres Dewdney creek to 920 metres. (Map 1) There has beenconsiderable logging done in the area. Even though few small stands of trees remain, overburden, thick moss, thick short brush and logging slash inhibit any extensiveprospecting by an individual. In spite of the ground cover, logging roads have exposedseveral rock outcrops which have been identified. (Map 2)PROPERTY GEOLOGY AND HISTORYThe PERL claim (currently owned by myself) lies just NE of the East Hozameen fault inthe Coast Crystalline belt of the Bridge River terrane. The host rock is predominantlysedimentary (mudstone/siltstone) of the Ladner group, and is Middle to Lower Jurassic inage. The Ladner group in this area overlies older greenstones (Coquihalla serpentine) andhas undergone low grade metamorphism, exhibiting a slaty appearance (ref. 1). Exposedbedrock has weathered to a rust brown. Random quartz veining exists from a fewmillimeters to several centimeters in width along the exposed areas of sedimentary rock, and hosts minor amounts of pyrite, arsenopyrite, pyrrhotite and possible galena. Thestrike of the bedding in this area is between 310 and 330 degrees, dipping to the southfrom 40 to 75 degrees. This direction coincides with the general trend of the area inwhich the Emancipation, Carolin and Aurum mines are located. The PERL claim area hasundergone exploration off and on since the early 1900's. It has been previously known asthe King group and most recently it includes the showing known as Broken Hill (Minflle# 092HSW035 ref. 2). The commodities of the area include gold and silver.WORK COMPLETEDBetween August 17, 2010 and September 29,2010 several days were spent investigatingpreviously identified outcrops. These outcrops are marked as WP034 through WP037(Map 2). Rock specimens were takenfromsingle locations from each outcrop, typicallyquartz veining. The specimens were sent to Acme Labs at 1020 Cordova St. Vancouverfor assay. Analysis consisted of 1DX2 36 element Aqua Regia digestion ICP-MS of15gm samples.Specific elements of interest are gold and silver, however other commodities could not beruled out should values indicate further investigation.2

One assayfrom WP034 however did show elevated results in a number of elements, and does bearfurther examination. The geology of the Hozameen fault and the history of mining andexploration of the area shows that further potential does exist. It is recommended tocontinue exploration of the fault and surrounding area and to do a more thoroughinvestigation of the site known as Broken Hill.REFERENCESRef 1 - Geological Survey of Canada,Geology of Hope B.C.Map 41-1989J.W.H. Perl's creator, Larry Wall, announced it the next day in his State of the Onion address. Most notably, he said "Perl 6 is going to be designed by the community." Everyone thought that Perl 6 would be the version after the just-released Perl v5.6. That didn't happen, but that's why "Perl" was in the name "Perl 6."
