The dog crate was mounted with four lashing straps directly onto therigid sled. The crash test was performed in the vehicle’s direction of forward travelling at 48,9km/h, approximately 20 g pulse and a 30 ms duration. Some permanent deformations occurred in the rear part of the dog crate during the test, but didnot increase the risk of injury in the event of a collision. The prescribed load was sustainedinside the dog crate during the test and the front gate remained closed and was possible to openand evacuate after the test.1.IntroductionRISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB has on assignment of Bioberga AB performed a crashtest of a Flexxy hundbur medium dog crate according to ECE Regulation No. 17 Rev.5,deceleration pulse. The purpose of the test was to evaluate the strength of the dog crate and thelashing straps systems.RISE Research Institutes of Sweden ABPostal addressOffice locationPhone / Fax / E-mailBox 857501 15 BORÅSSWEDENBrinellgatan 4504 62 BoråsSWEDEN 46 10-516 50 00 46 33-13 55 02info@ri.seThis document may not be reproduced other than in full, except with the prior written approval of RISE ResearchInstitutes of Sweden AB.

379-34 (4)Test resultsThe sled was accelerated to a speed of 48,9 km/h before impact. Some permanent deformations occurred in the rear part of the dog crate during the test, but didnot increase the risk of injury in the event of a collision. The prescribed load was sustainedinside the dog crate during the test and the front gate remained closed and was possible to openand evacuate after the test. The test results shown in this report refer only to the tested objects.5.Measurement uncertaintyThe measurement uncertainty for the deceleration pulse is less than 1,5 %.Reported uncertainty corresponds to an approximate 95 % confidence interval around themeasured value. The interval has been calculated in accordance with EA-4/16 (EA guidelineson the expression of uncertainty in quantitative testing), which is normally accomplished byquadratic addition of the actual standard uncertainties and multiplication of the resultingcombined standard uncertainty by the coverage factor k 2.Department Applied Mechanics, RISE AB - Transport and Product SafetyPerformed byExamined bySignature 1Signature 2Per BodinAnna EhnAppendicesAppendix 1Appendix 2Appendix 3Deceleration graph (1 page)Photos (page 1-4)Sketch with dimensions (page 1)Material Analysis lashing strap (page 2)RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB

frontal zone. At midtropospheric levels, the warm occluded structure formed as a result of the cold-frontal zone approaching, and subsequently ascending, the warm-frontal zone in accord with a component of the classical occlusion mechanism. The observed asynchronous evolution of the occluded structure is proposed to result from the vertical variation

The agency established a frontal impact test program whose protocol is based on Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 208 “Occupant Crash Protection” except that the frontal NCAP test is conducted at 56 km/h (35 mi/h), rather than 48 km/h (30 mi/h) as required by FMVSS No. 208

Frontal crash test of a dog crate has been performed according to the ECE Regulation No. 17 Rev.5, deceleration pulse. The Flexxy hundbur small loaded with a 15 kg dog dummy was mounted with four lashing straps directly onto the rigid sled. An extra lashing strap was fitted to support the rear part of the dog crate.
