ENCare & CleaningREPLACING THE WATER FILTER12Set current monthSoak filterfor 5 min3Ensure parts areconnectedThe provided water filter helps reduce the riskof scale build-up in and on many of the innerfunctioning components. Replacing the waterfilter every three months or 40L will reduce theneed to descale the machine. The limitation of 40L is based on water hardnesslevel 4. If you are in level 2 area, you can increasethis to 60L.WARNINGAfter regular use, hard water can cause mineralbuild up in and on many of the inner functioningcomponents, reducing the brewing flow, brewingtemperature, power of the machine, and taste ofthe espresso.CLEANING CYCLEThe CLEAN ME light will illuminate when acleaning cycle is required. This is separate fromdescaling.1. Insert the 1 CUP filter basket into theportafilter, followed by the supplied cleaningdisc, followed by 1 cleaning tablet.2. It is recommended to descale your unit every90 days when water hardness is at level 4; andwhen water hardness is at level 6, descale yourunit every 60 days.4. Descale Steam component by turningthe steam dial LEFT towards the STEAM icon.WARNINGDo not immerse power cord, power plugor appliance in water or any other liquid. The water tank should never be removedor completely emptied during descaling.NOTEDo not use bottled water when descaling.
