President’s MessageFlorida Federation of Garden Clubs’ State Flower ShowSounds of MusicWOW, this Sounds of Music flower show is never ending candy forthe brain. The effort needed in making up these exhibits, the creativity, and the hours of thought applied will hit your senses the moment youwalk into the show room. Sounds from your favorite music will berecalled as you turn each corner. Beauty is everywhere you look.Welcome to a show that has been years in the making. This show wasfirst to be presented at the 2020 FFGC Convention in Tampa, Florida, only to be cancelled by a new sickness spreading across America. Themusic, our designers, and our garden clubs played on. But we couldn’tget the yet to be tangible floral designs and exhibits out of our heads. They had to be created, seen, and experienced.Former FFGC President Albert Latina, lover of music, came up withthe show title, “Sounds of Music”. Flower Show Chairman Carol Luciaand Vice-Chairman Lori Richie and their committees got to work withrenewed enthusiasm for this 2022 FFGC Convention. The exhibitors inthe Design, Horticulture, Botanical Arts, Education and Youth Divisionshave made the title come to life. Al is pleased. Now, when you hear certain music, you will have more to think aboutthan that family outing or that special someone. You will think about thatbeautiful plant, bloom, or design. Even though the sickness is still aroundthe world, let the talented members of FFGC fill your thoughts withmusic, wonder, and beauty. Enjoy the show!Marjorie H. HendonFFGC President2
