The Mountain Region mountainous area of the country in the north. The altitude ranges from 4877 meters to 8848 meters abovethe sea level. This region consists large number of magnificent snowcovered mountains including the highest peak of the world,the Mount Everest. Because of its geography and climatic conditions it is themost sparsely populated region compared to other two. It lies between the altitudes of 610 meters abovethe sea level and 4876 meters. Comprises several attractive peaks, fertile valleyand basins such as Kathmandu and Pokharavalley. Relatively densely populated. Largest share (41.7%)of the land area of thecountry. c. The Terai Region This region lies in the southern part of thecountry. The Terai, forms a low flat land (plain). It accommodates 50.27 percent of population in2011 The share of the land area is 23.1 % of thecountry. Terai includes most of the fertile land and denseforest of the country. Statistical System in Nepal – A Review Based on Statistical Act, Established CBS inJanuary 1, 1959 (Poush 17, 2015) According to the provision of the Statistical Act,CBS is the sole authorized agency responsible tocollect, process, analyze and disseminate data The law has the mandatory provision for allthose who wish to collect, process anddisseminate data to take the prior permissionfrom CBS However, various agencies collect and generatestatistics because their data needs were notfully satisfied by CBSFirst Training in Japan on Economic Census(2017/01/14 to 2017/02/04)17Statistical System- A Review . In B. S. 2051 (A.
