Notice of ChangeThis Notice of Change amends the NAB Card InsurancePolicy Information Booklet with an effective date of 31March 2021 and should be read in conjunction with thatbooklet. you are aged under seventy six (76) years on thedate you depart on your journey; and while overseas during the period of cover availablefor your journey,you are injured or become sick (including if you arepositively diagnosed as suffering a sickness recognisedas an epidemic or pandemic, such as COVID-19),provided the relevant injury or sickness is covered,Allianz Global Assistance will arrange for the followingassistance services:a. access to a medical adviser for emergency medicaltreatment while overseas;b. any messages which need to be passed on to yourfamily or employer in the case of an emergency;c. provision of any written guarantees for payment ofreasonable expenses for emergency hospitalisationwhile overseas;d. advice and assistance with emergency travelplanning.5. The text highlighted in red below has been addedto ‘1.2.1 What we cover Overseas medical expensesdue to covered injury or sickness’ on page 37 to:1.2.1 What we coverOverseas medical expenses due to covered injury orsicknessIf: you are aged under seventy six (76) years on thedate you depart on your journey; and during the period of cover available for yourjourney, you are injured overseas or becomesick (including if you are positively diagnosed assuffering a sickness recognised as an epidemic orpandemic, such as COVID-19) while overseas, wewill reimburse the reasonable medical expensesyou incur until you get back to Australia providedthat the relevant injury or sickness is covered by thisinsurance.

The text highlighted in red below has been added to‘1.4.1 What we cover’ on page 39 to:1.4.1 What we coverIf: you are aged under seventy six (76) years on thedate you depart on your journey; and while overseas during the period of cover availablefor your journey,you injure yourself or become sick (including if you arepositively diagnosed as suffering a sickness recognisedas an epidemic or pandemic, such as COVID-19)and the relevant injury or sickness is covered bythis insurance, we will pay the reasonable cost ofyour medical transfer or evacuation if you must betransported to the nearest hospital for emergencymedical treatment overseas or be brought back toyour home on the written advice of a medical adviser.7. The text highlighted in red below has been added to‘2.1.1 What we cover’ on page 42 to:2.1.1 What we coverIf during the period of cover available, your journey iscancelled, disrupted or rescheduled because of any ofthe following circumstances that are not expected orintended by you: your unforeseen death, accidental injury orsickness (including if you or your travel companionare positively diagnosed as suffering a sicknessrecognised as an epidemic or pandemic, such asCOVID-19, which reasonably prevents you fromtravelling); the unforeseen death, accidental injury or sicknessof your relative aged under 80 years; the unforeseen death, accidental injury or sicknessof your business partner or a member of yourtravelling party; or any other unforeseen circumstances outside yourcontrol that are not excluded,we will reimburse you:

The use of defined words in the singular includes theplural and vice versa.accident/accidental/accidentally means a sudden,unforeseen and unintended event.accountholder means an NAB customer, being anindividual, business entity or company, who has enteredinto a card account with NAB and in whose name thecard account was opened. It mayhave a pattern of relapse and remission.covered breakdown means the failure of a coveredproduct to operate for the purpose for which it wasdesigned, as a direct result of a breakdown or defect.This does not include where the breakdown or defect iscovered by the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty.covered item means an item acquired for personal,domestic or household use but excludes: items acquired for the purpose of sale or trade; animals or plant life; boats, automobiles, motorboats, motorcycles, airplanesor any other motorised vehicles and their integral partsand installed accessories; computer software and other non-tangible items; cash, bullion, negotiable instruments, vouchers,gift cards, securities, trading cards, tickets of anydescription, travellers cheques or collections such asstamps, coins and cards; consumable or perishable items (including but notlimited to food, drink, drugs, cosmetics, fuel or oil); manuscripts and books of account; second-hand items including works of art and antiques; items of contraband; real estate and movable fixtures or fittings (includingbut not limited to dishwashers, stoves, ovens and fixedair conditioners) which are or are intended to form partof any residence or real estate.– NAB Platinum Visa Debit Card.card account means: a current and valid NAB card facility provided by NAB towhich purchases made by cardholders on a NAB cardare charged; orcovered product means a new domestic appliance productpurchased in Australia that has a manufacturer’s warrantyof at least six (6) months and of no more than five (5)years. the primary account linked to a NAB card to which atransaction is routed by any electronic funds transferfacility.1011

dependant means your child, step child, foster child, grandchild or ward not in full-time employment who is: aged twenty four (24) years or under at the time that theperiod of cover available for their journey commences; or is your child who is physically or mentally incapableof self support at the time they attain the age ofeighteen(18) years, for as long as the child remainsincapable of self support and unmarried.epidemic means an infectious disease that rapidlyspreads to a large number of people in a community,population or region.excess means the deduction we will make from theamount otherwise payable for each claimable incident orevent.financial default means insolvency, bankruptcy,provisional liquidation, financial collapse, appointment ofreceivers, or any other form of insolvency administrationor the happening of anything of a similar nature underthe laws of any jurisdiction.kidnap/kidnapped means being illegally abducted andforcibly held hostage for the purpose of demandingransom payment.loss of as used with reference to a hand or a foot meansseverance through or above the wrist or ankle joint.manufacturer’s warranty means the manufacturer’swritten warranty, properly registered with themanufacturer, that is applicable and able to be fulfilledwithin Australia.medical adviser means a doctor, a clinical psychologistor a dentist, who is not you, your travel companion or arelative or an employee of you, your travel companionor a relative, holding the necessary certification for thecountry in which they are currently practicing and qualifiedto give the diagnosis being provided.funeral expenses means the costs charged by a funeraldirector for arranging a funeral service and by a cemeteryfor a burial or a crematorium for a cremation. It does notinclude the cost of memorialisation or any other costs.medical expenses means reasonable expenses incurred for:hijack/hijacked means the illegal capture by force ofany building, aircraft, motor vehicle, train or waterbornevessel. ambulance or hospital charges; orhome means the place where you normally live inAustralia. emergency dental charges up to the limit specified inPart C - Benefit Limits - Section 1.3 Overseas EmergencyDental Expenses due to sudden & acute pain (toothache).This does not include dental treatment for deterioration,decay or normal wear and tear to teeth; orhospital means an established hospital registered underany legislation that applies to it, that provides in-patientmedical care.
