(1) The title of these regulations is the ConformityAssessment of Marine Equipment (Amendment) Regulations, 2012,and these shall be read and construed as one with the ConformityAssessment of Marine Equipment Regulations, hereinafter referred toas "the principal regulations".Citation, scopeandcommencement.S.L. 427.60(2) These regulations transpose Commission Directive 2011/75/EU amending Council Directive 96/98/EC on marine equipment.(3) These regulations shall apply to equipment falling underthe scope of the principal regulations.(4) These regulations shall enter into force on 5th October2012.2. Paragraph (b) of sub-regulation (3) of regulation 5 of theprincipal regulations shall be substituted by the following:"(b) Equipment listed in Schedule Ia as having beentransferred from Schedule Ib which was manufactured before 5October 2012 in accordance with procedures for type-approvalalready in force before this date, may continue to be placed onthe market and on board a Community ship until 5 October2014.".3. Schedule I to the principal regulations shall be substitutedby the following new schedule:"Schedule I(Based on Annex A of Directive 96/98/EC)(Regulation 5)Amendsregulation 5 ofthe principalregulations.SubstitutesSchedule I tothe principalregulations.

For the purpose of identifyingcorrectly the relevant standards, test reports, certificates ofconformity and declarations of conformity shall identify the specifictesting standard applied and its version.(f) Column 5: Where two sets of identifying standards areseparated by "or", each set fulfils all the testing requirements to meetIMO Performance Standards; thus testing to one of these sets issufficient to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of therelevant International Instruments.
