In the absence of local codes, installation mustconform with American National Standard, National Fuel GasCode ANSI Z223.1 - latest edition or CAN/CGA B149 - latestedition.IMPORTANT: Leak testing of the cooktop must be conductedaccording to the manufacturer's instructions.Type of GasNatural Gas:This cooktop is design-certified by CSA International for use withNatural gas or, after proper conversion, for use with LP gas. This cooktop is factory set for use with Natural gas. Toconvert to LP gas, see the Gas Conversion instructionsprovided in the literature package. The model/serial ratingplate located on the underside of the cooktop base hasinformation on the types of gas that can be used. If the typesof gas listed do not include the type of gas available, checkwith the local gas supplier.A 120 volt, 60 Hz, AC only, 15-amp, fused electrical circuit isrequired. A time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is alsorecommended. It is recommended that a separate circuitserving only this cooktop be provided.LP Gas conversion: Electronic ignition systems operate within wide voltage limits, but proper grounding and polarity are necessary. Check thatthe outlet provides 120-volt power and is correctly grounded. No attempt shall be made to convert the cooktop from the gasspecified on the model/serial rating plate for use with a differentgas without consulting the serving gas supplier. See the GasConversion instructions provided in the literature package. The wiring diagrams are provided with this cooktop."Wiring Diagrams" section.Conversion must be done by a qualified service technician.SeeGas Supply LineProvide a gas supply line of 3/4"(1.9 cm) rigid pipe to thecooktop location. A smaller size pipe on longer runs mayresult in insufficient gas supply. Pipe-joint compounds thatresist the action of LP gas must be used. Do not useTEFLON t tape. With LP gas, piping or tubing size can be r/2"minimum. Usually, LP gas suppliers determine the size andmaterials used in the system.1- TEFLON is a registeredtrademarkof E.I. Du Pont De Nemours and Company.

Flexible metal appliance connector: If local codes permit, use a 1/2"or %" I.D. flexible stainlesssteel tubing gas connector, designed by CSA to connectthe cooktop to the rigid gas supply line.Gas Pressure RegulatorThe gas pressure regulator supplied with this cooktop must beused. The inlet pressure to the regulator should be as follows forproper operation:Natural Gas:Minimum pressure: 5" (12.7 cm) WCP A 1/2"male pipe thread is needed for connection to thefemale pipe threads of the inlet to the cooktop pressureregulator.Maximum pressure: 7" to 14" (17.8 cm to 35.5 cm) WCPLP Gas: Do not kink or damage the flexible metal tubing whenmoving the cooktop.Minimum pressure: 11" (27.9 cm) WCPRigid pipe connection:The rigid pipe connection requires a combination of pipefittings to obtain an in-line connection to the cooktop. Therigid pipe must be level with the cooktop connection. Allstrains must be removed from the supply and fuel lines socooktop will be level and in line.Maximum pressure: 14" (35.5 cm) WCPContact local gas supplier if you are not sure about the inletpressure.Burner Input RequirementsInput ratings shown on the model/serial rating plate are forelevations up to 2,000 ft (609.6 m).For elevations above 2,000 ft (609.6 m), ratings are reduced at arate of 4% for each 1,000 ft (304.8 m) above sea level (notapplicable for Canada).Must include a shutoff valve:The supply line must be equipped with a manual shutoffvalve. This valve should be located in the same room butexternal to the cooktop. It should be in a location that allowsease of opening and closing. Do not block access to shutoffvalve. The valve is for turning on or shutting off gas to thecooktop.BGas Supply Pressure TestingLine pressure testing above 1/2psi gauge (14" WCP)The cooktop and its individual shutoff valve must bedisconnected from the gas supply piping system during anypressure testing of that system at test pressures in excess of1/2psi (3.5 kPa).Line pressure testing at 1/2psi gauge (14" WCP) or lowerThe cooktop must be isolated from the gas supply piping systemby closing its individual manual shutoff valve during any pressuretesting of the gas supply piping system at test pressures equal toor less than 1/2psi (3.5 kPa).A. This sparkingcontinues, as long as the control knob is turned to "LITE,"Check Operation of Surface BurnersPush in and turn the surface burners control knobs to the "LITE"position. The surface burner flame should light within 4 seconds. The firsttime a surface burner is lighted it may take longer that 4 secondsto light because of air in the gas line.Check the flame on "HI" for a blue color. It should be clean andsoft in character. No yellow tip, blowing or lifting of flame shouldoccur. Occasional orange flashes are normal and reflect differentelements in the air or gas. After verifying the proper burner operation, turn the control knobsto "OFE"AA. INDUCTION COOKTOP SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Use care when touching the cooktop. The glass surface of the cooktop will retain heat after turning off the controls. Do not cook on a broken cooktop. If the glass cooktop should break, cleaning solutions and spillovers may penetrate the broken cooktop and create a risk of electric shock.

below the cooktop, it is not recommended that the induction cooktop be used during the oven self clean process. Make sure individuals who use the cooktop are able to operate it properly. CAUTION Do not set cookware with sharp edges on the bottom (such as support legs with sharp corners) on the cooktop. Damage to the glass surface may occur.
