Decision to amend the academic calendar for doctoral studies at theUPC. 2021-2022 academic yearOn 9 April 2021, the Governing Council approved the academiccalendar for doctoral studies at the UPC for the 2021-2022 academicyear, in Decision CG/2021/02/28.Subsequently, Order EMT/138/2021, of 25 June, which establishedthe official calendar of public holidays in Catalonia in 2022, waspublished in the Official Gazette of the Catalan Government, no.8446, of 30 June 2021. The Order includes 6 June (Whit Monday) inthe list of public holidays in Catalonia in 2022.In view of the above, the Governing Council has taken the followingDECISION:To amend the academic calendar for doctoral studies by adding 6June 2022 to the list of public holidays in the 2021-2022 academicyear.Barcelona, 9 November 2021

Non-teaching periodsThe non-teaching periods in the 2021-2022 academic year are the following: Christmas: from 23 December 2021 to 5 January 2022Easter: from 11 to 14 April 2022Summer: from 30 July to 31 August 2022With regard to elections, non-teaching periods are holidays, in accordance with Article 32.3of the UPC’s election regulations. In addition to these dates, the period from 1 to 31 July 2021is also considered a holiday period in electoral terms only.Theses can be defended in non-teaching periods, unless the University agrees to close itsbuildings in any of these periods.Applications for admissionInterested parties may apply for admission to a doctoral programme from 1 September 2021to 22 July 2022, in accordance with the specific admission calendar set by the academiccommittee of the programme within this period.The academic committees may rule on admissions for applications submitted for the 20212022 or 2022-2023 academic year, without distinction, depending on the number of places onthe programme.Annual enrolmentOrdinary enrolment period: from 27 September to 25 October 2021The first enrolment in the doctoral programme must be done in the academic year and in theperiod specified in the decision on admission.Unless otherwise stated, decisions on admissions issued after 22 April 2022 correspond toadmissions and enrolment in the 2022-2023 academic year, depending on the number ofplaces on the programme for this academic year.Annual assessmentDeadline for annual assessment in the 2021-2022 academic year: 16 September 2022Thesis depositOrdinary period for the doctoral thesis deposit: from 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2022¹ See the specific calendar for your programme.Doctoral School3
