Before installing an operating systemBefore installing an operating system, do the following: Copy the driver for onboard Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) software Redundant Array of Independent Disks(RAID) or the installed RAID card from the ThinkServer EasyStartup DVD that comes with your server to aUniversal Serial Bus (USB) storage device (SCSI is the acronym for Small Computer System Interface). Set the optical drive that you want to use as the first startup device. Depending on the server model, anexternal optical drive might be required.Note: If you want to install an operating system in Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) mode, setthe UEFI drive as the first startup device. Change your password when prompted.Note: The password must be a combination of upper case letters, lower case letters, and numbers.18. Log in to the operating system and insert the ThinkServer EasyStartup DVD into the optical drive.
