Makesure that no sand or dust gets inside the lensor the terminals when using the lens on abeach, etc. This lens is not waterproof. If drops of waterget onto the lens, wipe the lens with a drycloth. Do not press the lens with excessive force. When there is dirt (water, oil, and fingerprints, etc.)on the surface of the lens, the picture may beaffected. Lightly wipe the surface of the lens with asoft, dry cloth before and after taking pictures. Do not place the lens mount facing downwards.Do not allow the lens contact points 1 to becomedirty.4VQT5B48 (ENG)水曜日午後3時39分 About Condensation (Fogging of theLens) Condensation occurs when there are differencesin temperature and humidity as described below.Condensation can cause the lens to become dirtyand lead to mold and malfunctioning, so exercisecaution in the following situations:– When the camera is brought indoors from outsideduring cold weather– When the camera is brought into an airconditioned car– When cold air from an air conditioner is directlyblown onto the lens– In humid places Put the camera into a plastic bag to allow it toacclimatize to the surrounding temperature inorder to prevent condensation. If condensationoccurs, turn the power off and leave it for abouttwo hours. Once the camera acclimatizes to thesurrounding temperature the condensation will goaway naturally.

Do not press the lens release button B whenyou attach a lens. Do not try to attach the lens when holding it at anangle to the camera body as the lens mount mayget scratched. Check that the lens is attached correctly. Be sure to remove the lens cap when recording. Attach the lens rearcap so that the lens contact point does not getscratched. The filter may become impossible to remove ifexcessively tightened, so please refrain fromtightening it too strongly. It is possible to attach the lens cap with the filteralready attached. If you have problems with the attachment orremoval of the PL filter (optional:DMW-LPL46), werecommend turning on the digital camera andtrying again with the focus mode set to “manual”([MF]). You cannot attach a conversion lens or adaptor tothis lens. Also, the lens may be damaged.When using pesticides and other volatilesubstances around the camera make sure thatthey do not get onto the lens. If such substances get onto the lens they candamage the exterior case or cause the paint to peel.Do not carry the unit when it is still attached tothe camera body. Under no circumstances should the unit be storedin any of the following locations since doing so maycause problems in operation or malfunctioning.– In direct sunlight or on a beach in summer– In locations with high temperatures and humiditylevels or where the changes in temperature andhumidity are acute– In locations with high concentrations of sand,dust or dirt– Where there is fire– Near heaters, air conditioners or humidifiers

Do not leave the lens in contact with rubber orplastic products for extended periods of time. Do not touch the lens contact point. Doing so cancause failure of the unit. Do not disassemble or alter the unit.Do not use benzine, thinner, alcohol or othersimilar cleaning agents to clean the lens glass orexterior cabinet. Using solvents can damage the lens or cause thepaint to peel. Wipe off any dust or fingerprints with a soft, dry cloth. Use a dry, dust cloth to remove dirt and dust onthe focus ring. Do not use a household detergent or a chemicallytreated gA sound is heard when the camera is turned onor off.A sound is heard from the lens when taking apicture of a bright subject such as whenoutdoors.
